The Annah Stretton 2018/19 Spring Summer Collection is being launched this week and for the first time ever we will see Annah’s two worlds colliding with the collection becoming a mouthpiece for her work in the social ventures space.
The name of the collection - ‘Addicted to Life’ – is the first clue to this new pairing.
“The wrong sort of addiction - i.e. to drugs, alcohol, food and/or relationships - is at the core of so many of the social challenges that New Zealand is facing, and it’s continuing to drive inter-generational disadvantage on an endemic scale” says Annah.
Never one to stand on the sidelines, Annah’s 25 years of running a successful fashion company, together with all the wonderful women that have bought and loved her frocks, has enabled her to fund a series of social platforms that begin to break down these destructive cycles.
“Through the charities I’ve established - RAW, Kia Puāwai and The Good Collective - I am engaging and giving new sets of choices and opportunities to a diverse demographic of women – from recidivist offenders transitioning to a legal life to female entrepreneurs battling to get a foot in the right doors. It’s become my absolute passion or you could say addiction hence the title of my collection. Addicted to life is a tune we all need to and deserve to be singing along too” says Annah.
Annah’s latest collection celebrates the energy, passion and connection that a great life can deliver with its bold use of colour and floral prints across a wide range of fabrications.
