Hi Annah, (I bought a) Hayley dress that your wonderful manager Danelle from Invercargill helped me select. She is an assest to your business, no matter how busy your store is everyone gets special attention, she is always smiling and nothing is too much trouble. Hence!! by purchasing two wedding dresses, a bridesmaids dress for my daughter and a beautiful red velvet rusched coat that I had made for winter. The fabric combination is very antique looking, everyone loved it and wanted to know where it came from, even the men commented, that's something :)Thank you so much for helping to make my day perfect through your beautiful designs and wonderful manager Danelle.Kindest Regards Angela MacInnes (nee Vodanovich)

More Great Feedback on Make Me Over Competition!
I just wanted to compliment the girls at the Hamilton Birds of a Feather store on their amazing service. I have just completed a style session with them and had an outstanding time. They were all so lovely to deal with and made the whole experience such a pleasure, I left feeling amazing and am looking forward to wearing my new outfits! The attention to detail, colours, body shape and creating a complete look was fabulous and made such a big difference for me.
I am thrilled with my shopping experience and wanted to pass on my feedback. Dont change a thing ladies you are wonderful!
Thanks
Renae

Last Saturday my friend and I checked out your shop in Otaki and spent a lovely 3/4s of an hour while my friend searched for something to wear to her son's wedding. I must tell you that your staff were wonderful. I was the 'spare', but I never felt in the way, "they gave me a seat" and chatted while my friend tried on a series of dresses from your chameleon range, all the time being very attentive to her needs. We finally found the one dress and several other pieces and my friend looked better than I have ever seen her before. She won't outshine the bride but she will look stunning all the same," very difficult when you are slightly overweight and in your mid fifties." She won't mind me saying so. I didn't buy anything myself as I am still downsizing so to speak and have a couple of dress sizes to go. But my goal is to reward myself with something from the Otaki store. Congratulations on your Otaki staff and the store in general.
Warm Regards
Christine Barrett

Fabulous service from Kerry at Noosa, Australia.
I wanted a dress for a wedding in England, I had no idea what I was looking for.
Kerry asked me questions about what I liked/didn't like etc and then suggested a few dresses to try on.
The second one I tried was perfect, a rose bud dress, it fit perfect and I loved it straight away. She then put a 5 ways cardigan to match over the dress and it transformed the outfit.
It's great to receive such service, were the sales person has an eye for what looks right and being that most of us girls don't wear such beautiful clothes every day, it's hard to know how to wear things with elegance.
Kerry was really patient and so helpful. She was beautifully presented, you should be proud to have her in Noosa.
Old fashioned service, I love it.
Thank you.
Karen Martin.

Hi there,
just wanted to let you know that Danelle at the Invercargill store is fabulous. I went into the store feeling rather down about my up coming wedding and what I was wearing. Danelle made me feel a million dollars when I walked out and there was no pushy sales pitch just geniune interest in what I looked good in. She was absolutely spot on the mark with her advice & professionalism and was able to change the dress with a few rosette carefully whipped up in the back in no time. I will highly recomend her to anyone who is looking for the perfect outfit and the wonderful experience.
She is s credit to your company.

Hi there,
I just wanted to write a quick email to mention a couple of things - I realise you probably get feedback like this all the time, but...
Last year I made the Mint Chicks stitch n bitch wrap dress. Your kits are absolutely brilliant, even for me as a beginner sewer(!) Not only am I now the proud owner of a completed dress, for the first time I have completed a garment that I actually want to wear - that looks brilliant and has beautiful fabrics that 'work' for the pattern. I wore mine to a wedding in South Korea and ended up being spectacle of the night!
Around this time last year I enrolled myself in a dress-making night class at my local high school, and turned up with tufts of tule, oodles of satin and a rather daunting list of instructions in the form of the Mint Chicks stitch and bitch kit. After watching my tutor (who makes brides and bridesmaids dresses for a living) somewhat shudder in horror when I told her 'Oh, I have NO idea how to even thread a sewing machine, but I bought this kit from Annah Stretton, and want to make this reversable-wear-it-10-ways-wrap-dress, but it has no zips or buttons so it must be easy right?!' I managed to cobble together a wearable garment that I'm really proud to wear - although noone actually believes I made it(!)
I am currently in the throws of completing the Isabella Wrap dress (ha! That georgette makes entertaining sewing, right?!?!) 12 months after I turned up at the first night class with my Mint Chicks kit, I tottled along Tuesday night with my Isabella Wrap kit firmly tucked under my arm. This time, my tutor's face lit up with glee as she poured over the beautiful fabrics and ribbons with me. The words 'fabulous,' 'beautiful,' and 'stunning' were used quite a bit.
So thank you for creating such a fabulous product. A product through which I have made a lot of new friends of all ages (at the night class), had a lot of laughs (who knew how many times I could sew the arm-hole shut?) and have learnt a lot of new skills - I am a now a master of the quick-unpick(!) I have thoroughly enjoyed every moment of putting the dresses together.
I also wanted to say congratulations on your fantastic staff. I mainly go into your Customhouse Quay store in Wellington and the ladies there are absolutely lovely. I barelled in on Friday and spoke with Elizabeth who made loads of phone calls and managed to pull strings so impressive that she not only managed to get me the very last 'sold out' Isabella Wrap dress, she had it delivered to my work in time for me to take along to my night school on Tuesday (after a long weekend). Her service was phenomenal - nothing was a problem, everything was do-able and she was nothing but positive.
I have also had a similar previous experience in the Customhouse Quay store with Rose. Poor Rose, when I first finished my Mint Chicks dress, I took in into her and pestered her with questions. Not only did she have an incredible knowledge for the Annah Stretton ranges, she told me what colours would suit me, what style would suit my body shape she told me how to accessorise my dress, right down to the fabulous facinator and flower brooch I purchased in the store.
All of your staff (but particularly Rose and Elizabeth) are so lovely to come in contact with; bright, bubbly and welcoming. As a company Annah Stretton should be proud to have these ladies on staff, they do you proud.
Right, that email ended up being much longer than what I thought(!) But so often people forget to praise the positive, and are quick to raise the negative.
So from one happy customer, thank you and well done.
All the best,
Kylie

Dear Annah,
It seems you have amazing staff in all your stores.
My friend and I went to the Newmarket Annah Stretton store last weekend, and had the BEST shopping experience I have ever had.
I have been lusting after a Chameleon dress for years, and finally decided I really should try one on - because of my shape I was worried it wouldn't look any good...
Shona greeted us and got involved straight away selecting colors and sizes for me. She was awesome. She spent at least half an hour with us, helping me try different styles and colors.
She was helpful, entertaining and honest, without being at all pushy. Her enthusiasm and lovely personality really made my Chameleon shopping trip wonderful. My friend was impressed too (and has decided she might need a Chameleon herself).
Best of all, my Tatiana Chameleon looked fabulous on me and I can't wait to WOW everyone when I wear it!
Thank you Shona. We will be back!
ps Im really looking forward to the new Stitch 'n Bitch range...

Hi
I just want to compliment Marlena in the Wellington store for her great service in the last couple of days. I've been looking for a garment to wear to a wedding and she has been patient and helpful in both getting the size in I wanted and quietly attending/ listening as I made the decision.

A quick bit of feedback from a passionate Annah.S Customer
The tall gorgeous blonde lady in your Napier Shop has got to be one of your very best!!
I have haunted Annah.S shops in Taupo, Havelock, Queenstown, etc and she is the one who really deserves a pat on the back so I'm emailing this to you.
Im not sure what her sales record is but she is an absolute top ambassador for Annah.S in her styling - looks a million in Annah.S gear every time - and puts it on people with the same verve.
Plus her smile and willingness to help well shines above all the rest.
Give her a raise if you can!
Hi Annah,
Just thought you may be interested in some recent shopping experiences I have had while trying to find a work summer wardrobe. I started looking during October in all the shops in Palmerston North but not yours. Few years ago I had been in your shop but while I loved the colours and the looks, I didn't feel it suited my conservative style. Anyway I went back and back to the same shops (similar prices as your clothes) during October and this month and nobody could help me. When asked if I needed help, I would say that I was looking for a pair of slacks to wear to work although I sometimes I said that I was also looking for my summer work wardrobe. The most service I got was that the shops assistants would kindly offer to hang the clothes I had selected to try on in the changing room. One did try and show me the trousers they had in the stock but they were casual wear and then she said that I should look in Stax.
I finally made it to your shop because there were 2 carparks right outside which was perfect for my parking skills. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a cheerful 'hello'. Then the shop assistant (Ally) walked towards me with a 'how are you' greeting in such a genuine way that I thought for a moment that she knew me. "Can I help you with what you are looking for" she said. (clever greeting I thought - as does any one really look for nothing?) I said I'm looking for clothes to wear to work but you don't really have this sort of stuff. "oh yes we do" was her reply. Then she proceeded to show me the 'corporate range', while asking me where I worked, etc. I said I was after 'smart casual" and really wanted a pair of slacks. I walked out of there with a pair of slacks, a camisole (which was not anything that I have had before), a skirt (something I have always wanted but never been able to find) and a cardi which is not what you would imagine a cardi to be.
So yesterday I called in to your lovely new shop "birds of a feather" and had the attentions of another wonderful shop assistant (Annette I think). Tried on the slacks that were in store which weren't the description that I was looking for but turned out absolutely perfect. As I had a friend with me, I tried on the skirt I had previously bought to show her. Annette said "and you have the jacket?" I didn't realise I still had her attention as I had completed the transaction that I came in for. When I said I didn't have it - she said " well you just have to try it on with it (the skirt). When I was walking towards the changing room with the jacket I said to my friend "I'm not buying it - it's $420. .......Yes I bought the jacket, the camisole and an obi belt - Annette dressed me up so well, how could I not.
And in between all this, I received a card from you which was so neat.
Thank you Annah.
All the best,
Holly

Hello
I had absolutely wonderful service from the Tauranga Store recently. Last year I purchased one of your wraparound skirts to wear on New Years eve (our wedding anniversary). The black top I wore was only just okay. After ordering a gorgeous red top I thought one of your chocolate brown ones would go well with the skirt. "Bring your skirt in" the lovely assistant (can't remember her name) said. Next day I went in with a friend and my skirt and had a wonderful time learning the different ways to wear my skirt and a lesson on the rubber band roses and purchased the chocolate brown top.
Regards from one very happy customer

Have just got home from a 3 day conference in Takapuna & had the absolute pleasure of meeting the manager at your Takapuna store. What a fantastic friendly, approachable & vibrant woman she is (was like catching up with a long lost friend however I had never met her before!) Showed me how to wrap & rosette my Chameleon dress & also gave me fantastic new ideas with accessories to really personalise my look. (Love the new tiered petticoat btw - have been resorting to rolling over the top of mine to alter the length). All the staff I have met at your various stores have been wonderful however this particular manager was leagues ahead of the rest. Keep up the brilliant work-you have a real winner there!!! :)

Thank you so much to the wonderful women in your Newmarket store who is so incredibly helpful and lovely. Shopping for a 50th outfit (with mother in tow) was absolutely totally enjoyable experience. I never know what to try on and I hate looking through racks and racks of clothing. This is the second time she has managed to fit me into an awesome outfit with only having to try on three outfits. Sometimes its not about clothes but about having someone knowing what looks good on you and giving you the confidence to wear it. Well done - you've got the combination right.
kind regards

Hi
My name is Wyma Glassey and I have had the extreme pleasure of shopping at your Store in Invercargill yesterday. Danelle the Manager was possibly one of the nicest and most patient person I have had the pleasure of meeting.
Let me give you some background.
I had been a single mum of two beautiful boys for many years and struggled on a daily basis working as a singer to provide my sons with not only the things they needed but also with the knowledge that hard work and a good attitude will go far in life. In 2002 I met my Husband Robert through the ambulance service here in Southland (he is a paramedic I am an EMT). In 2005 when our beautiful daughter was one we married and although things got better financially we still like most people struggle from time to time. My sister recently decided that she was going to marry her partner of 18 years on the 11th November 2011 so one day a couple of weeks ago we happened to park up on Kelvin Street to let my sister out to go to her health shop and the window of Annah S attracted my attention. My wee girl who was with us is now 7 and a bit of a fashion buff said, “Mummy can we go look at that shop?”. I walked in with a very heavy heart chastising myself for even thinking that Annah S would have anything that would fit me! (I am 104kg and am in XL sizes) I met Danelle and stated just that. You wont have anything for the big girls to which she replied that yes indeed she did.
We had a go at a lot of outfits and because of my unhappiness at my body I have never enjoyed clothes shopping. I also have never been able to shop in such beautiful shops with the slightly exclusive prices ever! I am 43 years old. Not once did I feel unhappy or uncomfortable with Danelle. She made me feel like a queen and told me I should embrace my figure and not worry about things. She was also so upbeat that it rubbed off on me and I can see she is a genuine and very caring person.
I don’t know if anyone of great importance will get to see this but from a very humble customer and now a lover of Annah S clothing I would like you to know how much it meant to me to be treated with such dignity. I bought the most beautiful and opulent outfit and can’t wait to put it on for my sisters wedding. The great thing is it will never go out of style and can be dressed up or down so I will get my moneys worth from it time and time again, and its all thanks to the wonderful service from the lovely Danelle.
Thank you once again
Most kindest regards
Wyma Glassey

Dear Annah,
I recently had a couple of weeks in Noosa and I just had to write and let you know what a great shop you have opened there. Also your manager Helen was great.
She told us she was off the Orewa to manage the shop there last week and I can honestly say she’ll be a great person in that job. Certainly had her heart in the job.
It’s always good to see you expanding – I don’t know how you cope and come up smiling!
Still enjoy HER mag – especially your editorials.
Keep up the good work.

Just wanted to say what an incredible experience I had in your shop in Dunedin last Friday. Whoever hired Sharlene as the shop manager ought to be congratulated. It has been sometime since I have enjoyed such fantastic service. Even though the shop was really busy, Sharlene gave incredible personal service and I left feeling like I had spent an hour with a friend - not to mention carrying my prized bag with my stunning new frock in it. She is one of your great assets. Many thanks, Lynda

Good morning
I would like to congratulate your two staff members that run your Pukekohe store. I had purchased a lovely wrap dress a few months ago and was served by Maree. She made me feel wonderful and I think this is the best customer service I have ever had in a clothing store.
Yesterday I went in to your store again for a dress for my daughter’s wedding. Clelia served me and once again I had wonderful customer service. I ended up purchasing three dresses and three obi belts.
My husband and I run two businesses and know the importance of good customer service.
You have a fantastic team at Pukekohe and I will certainly be recommending this store to everyone I know. WELL DONE
Kind regards
Jannene

I am writing to convey my appreciation for the wonderful care and assistance provided to me by Lesley at your Devonport store. Lesley spent considerable time with me and her passion for her work and for customer satisfaction was outstanding. I purchased 3 items of clothing that I would not have bought without her input, enthusiasm and suggestions.
I regularly visit Annah Stretton stores and just love the clothing. I have some garments that I continue to wear and enjoy year after year. Whenever I step into an Annah S store I am greeted with amazingly positive, interested and helpful staff for whom nothing is too much trouble. They are an asset to your company.
Best wishes

To Whom it may concern,
I just wish to inform your office of the wonderful service of which I received in your New Plymouth store from the Manager Kristie. It was a pleasure to shop in the store and found that she was so helpful in finding an outfit for my sons wedding, she made me feel so good and I felt a million dollars in the outfit she choose for me. This was something that I would never of picture myself in but with her adding the lovely slip and knit cardy to the beautiful dress I felt so good as it hide my legs and arms which I did not want showing.
Just needed to let you know that she is wonderful and because I have been in retail in Wellington I know a good sales person and she has it all. Well done on having her in your company and I shall be shopping there more often.
Regards
Lynette Cooper

Subject: Delightful Experience! =)
Good morning!
A few weeks ago, I wandered into your Feilding store to "have a peek". What came next was mind blowing for me, having medical issues that have caused me to gain 30 kilos. The tiny, gorgeous woman who was in there behaved as though I was just the most beautiful thing in the world to dress! She grabbed garments that were my perfect size, shape and, most of all, COLOUR! That there were garments made to suit me beyond perfectly amazed me, but having colours that were perfect simply blew me away.
Clothes shopping is usually a harrowing experience with bad fits on an ungainly figure and all the women pushing me to wear black, cool blues, white and charcoals. I have always found colour difficult even when I was a size 9.
I left that shop feeling pretty - and "told off" for wearing a baggy sweatshirt and hiding myself. lol. She also told us about the Palmerston North store having "Garb", which my friend and I and my husband went to two days later. My friend was the one fussed over this time, and she has always been a big girl. The lady knew we were not buying that day - that we would have to make an effort to save up....but she treated us and everyone else who came into that store like gorgeous royalty. She explained the training - every woman is a flower........my friend walked out feeling truly pretty for the first time in her life. My husband has declared that we shall put money aside for at least one garment for me - and then save for another as he was also impressed with the beauty of the fabrics, quality of the construction, versatility of the chameleon garments plus the attitude of the gorgeous woman paying us such lavish attention.
Please let these women know they will have people coming back to them as soon as we are able - as we want to see them again. We want to walk into Annah's stores and feel the confidence in simply being ourselves - and not have shop people walk away after taking one look at our weight.
Thank you Annah for such colours, styles and thoughtful consideration to two more, (two of too many to mention I am sure), adoring fans.
Kindest regards and wishes

Annah,
In the last week or so I’ve been looking for a dress to wear to a formal event as my husband has been with NZ Post for 30 years and they are holding a long-service anniversary dinner on August 20 at the Langham Hotel in Auckland. The dress code is suit and tie for the men and evening dress for the women.
I’ve only got a few dresses in my wardrobe and they’re all casual summer ones, so I knew I had nothing suitable. I had laser eye surgery on June 29 and wasn’t able to drive so my husband came with me and we visited several shops in Palmerston North on June 30. I am 49 years old, 155cm tall and a size 14, and after trying on several outfits I was getting pretty discouraged as they either made me look huge or they made me look old and dowdy! I didn’t see a single thing I would be comfortable wearing so the following week we made a list of all the women’s clothing shops in the district and on July 7 my husband and I worked our way through most of the list in Palmerston North.
At one large formal wear store, one of the two staff members said hello as I walked in, but she and the other staff member carried on chatting to a customer (who was not purchasing anything) about their grandchildren long after my husband joined me and we had wandered the store for more than 15 minutes. We walked around the corner and into your Palmerston North store and were immediately greeted by Ali. When I told her what I was looking for, she chose a few dresses for me to try on. She was very switched on as to what would and wouldn’t suit me and when she put me in the rose Mini Puff Didion dress, I was relieved to see that there was at least one dress that looked good on me so all was not lost! She was very friendly and afterwards my husband said I should let you know how impressed we were, especially after such poor service in many other stores we’d visited.
I still wanted to look at the rest of the shops to ensure I didn’t rush into things, so I got her to write the name of the dress on a card for me so I had a record of what it was and where I’d seen it. We looked at a few other stores that day but didn’t see anything nicer, so that night I had a look at your website. I saw a dress called Mischief Rose and thought it was gorgeous, so I decided to check out the Otaki store the following day (thankfully I could see to drive by then!) to see if they had it, not realising it was an outlet shop. The two women in there were also very helpful and friendly and they rang the Paraparaumu store to see if they had that particular dress in stock. They didn’t have the Mischief Rose dress but they did have a similar one so I thought I may head down there with my husband on Saturday.
I then received a text from a friend who lives in Feilding, saying she’d been into the Annah S store there and had seen plenty of things she liked, and also some she thought would be perfect for me, so I decided to visit the two stores in Bulls then head to Feilding. The Bulls stores were a complete waste of time and I was extremely disappointed with the level of service too. I have a tattoo that I wish to keep covered so explained I didn’t want a strapless dress – but was pretty much forced into trying one so she could see how high the top needed to be! One store was huge and well stocked yet I was told they didn’t have many dresses in my size. I am not a stylist so have no idea what shapes or colours really suit me, but this woman was hopeless. She put me in three dresses that all made me look hideous, before sending me across the road to their other store where another woman tried to tell me that a bright red, plunging neckline dress that was ruched front and back would look great on me… I have red hair and pale skin so even I knew it wouldn’t!
I left there feeling even more discouraged, and headed for Feilding, where in your store I met Elizabeth. Like Ali, she was extremely pleasant and immediately made me feel very welcome. I asked about the Mischief Rose dress and she said she had the last one. It was in a gorgeous deep purple and I was sure I’d love it – but when I tried it on, I wasn’t so sure. I tried on the rose Mini Puff Didion dress again and Elizabeth took one look and said “THAT is IT” – but then she tried it with a black obi and a short jacket and I saw more ways I could wear this dress. I wanted my husband to see me in both dresses before I made a final decision, so Elizabeth made a time for us to come on Saturday. I explained to her that I was feeling guilty as Ali had been so helpful the day before and I felt I should return to buy the dress from her, but she said unfortunately Ali had called in with tonsillitis that morning so she was not at work.
My husband came with me on Saturday morning and he was also very impressed with Elizabeth. We were there for close to two hours and I tried on different dresses and she styled the rose dress different ways, trying it with jackets and wraps, and it was easy to decide that the dress was the right one for me. I had been thinking of buying the plaid jacket to go with it, but then decided to try on one of the Chameleon dresses and fell in love with the Lucy version! Again, Elizabeth spent ages showing me how to tie the dress different ways and explaining what you could do with it. I asked to try on a different colour and she looked at me and said “I don’t think you will suit that one” and she was right – despite being the same dress but in different fabrics, it was totally wrong for me. My husband was amazed at the dress and ever since has been saying how whoever designed it must have had an amazing mind to be able to work out all those different combinations and how they would work!
I went shopping to buy one special occasion dress and ended up buying two dresses and a black obi – spending probably at least three times what I originally planned on spending! However, I am thrilled with my purchases and can’t wait to wear the rose dress next month.
Your staff – in particular Ali and Elizabeth – are a real credit to you and I would not hesitate to recommend friends shop at your stores. Both women knew what would suit me and what wouldn’t and they were extremely patient and very knowledgeable about what went with what. I have lived in trousers for years but I can’t wait to get back to work next week and wear my Lucy dress, and I will certainly be buying more of your clothing as some pieces obviously are just right for my size and shape. Without Ali and Elizabeth, I would never have known I could look so good in dresses and I look forward to adding more to my wardrobe.
Once again, I’d just like to say how delighted I was to have such attentive and personal service in your stores. Sure, not every other outlet I went into was terrible, and while some didn’t have any suitable outfits, they did have helpful and friendly staff. Your staff reminded me of what it was like when choosing my wedding dress – having someone totally focused on helping me! I was also impressed with how Elizabeth greeted everyone who came into the shop, and said thank you as they were leaving. If anyone was born to work in customer service, it would be her! My friend who visited there a few days earlier is due to give birth in a fortnight and yet Elizabeth put her in a Chameleon dress and showed her how it would look great now as well as once she’d given birth.
So far I’ve only had the dress on with no make up and with hair due to be cut and coloured and it still looks great, so I’m really looking forward to the ‘full works’ in August.
Thank you for not only having some stunning clothing that makes me look great, but also having such welcoming and friendly staff who really do know the meaning of customer service.
Regards,
Faye King

Hi Sharee
Could you please pass this email on to the manager of the Dunedin store. I just wanted to send this email and say how wonderful your Dunedin store manager (Sharlene) is. I work in retail as well and know that too often people only ever communicate to complain so I thought I would send a positive email.
Every time I go in to the Dunedin store Sharlene has such a positive, helpful and inspiring manner that I can't help but buy something. Although this is a good thing for your company it's not so good at times for my bank account!!!!
I do love the clothes - is the only store that has colour and patterns which I love, in fact have eyed up my next purchase already but it also has fantastic customer service.
Could you please pass this on to Annah as I think it's really important to know that your Dunedin store is in good hands and that Sharlene is doing a fantastic job. Today there seems to be so much negativity so I thought I would pass on my compliments.
Kind regards Lee-Anne

Hi Annah,
I am taking the time to send this email as I believe in “giving credit when credit is due” and your Pukekohe Store Manager Maree definitely deserves credit in my eyes!
Although I live in Pukekohe, last week was the first time I ventured into your beautiful shop. I was absolutely amazed at the attention and service Maree gave me – in fact I will go as far as saying I have NEVER received such wonderful service and attention from any shop or business I have been in before.
When I entered the store I was not really intending to buy anything, I was “just looking” and curious to see what was on offer. In saying this, I had been looking for a special black jacket for a while, however nothing I had ever seen had meet my criteria.
It was amazing how quickly Maree picked up on my personality and the type of clothing that appealed to me. I tried on many beautiful items and no pressure was applied at all in suggesting that I should purchase any said item. It was obvious to me that Maree was there to serve me in all ways she could, and I greatly appreciated her approach.
…..Well, after a couple of hours of trying on gorgeous clothing, I purchased 3 items and put another 2 on lay-by and I must admit I felt exceptional afterwards, both for the amazing clothing but also for meeting Maree, she is a tremendous person and if all customers receive the special treatment I did, then she is a huge asset for your store!
Maree’s service did not end there; the next morning she phoned me to say they had just received a new delivery and that there was a “coat with my name on it” in the delivery. Being involved in sales I understand that this was good sales follow-up; however I really believe that Maree knew that this coat would suit my style. She was right; I fell in love with it immediately – another unplanned purchase!
People are so quick to criticize, yet very few take the time to give credit when it’s due.
Annah S Pukekohe has gained me as a loyal customer thanks to the attention Maree and her staff member Diane gave me.
Kind Regards
Sandy Heard

Good morning,
During my meditation this morning, I asked myself the question - which clothes shop in Invercargill, when I go into it makes me feel wonderful. The answer was Annah.S - because of Danelle and her team. They make me feel special and just wonderful - the clothes they bring to me in the fitting room, Danelle’s amazing vibrancy and her dedication.
I own a shop across the road and while working there last weekend observed Danelle (outside store hours) re doing displays and working away.
Thank-you for this opportunity to chat and thank-you for providing Invercargill with a wonderful shop to go into - I'm going back today - I'll see if I can find myself something lovely to take to Vietnam next week.
Please look after her.
Kim

Good Evening,
I recently purchased a dress from your store in Paddington Qld for a race day event. The lovely girls in the store was of great help in finding the right dress and asked if I could send a photo of the dress. The photo has been included in this email. I saw the company when they were showing at the Craft Show in Brisbane in March. Thank you for the lovely dress and will purchase from you in the future.
Thank you

Good Morning,
Last week I had the pleasure of shopping at your Dunedin store. A little bit of background for you, I am possibly the best example of an incompetant clothes shopper EVER!
However I had the whole day to myself and I wandered into Annah Stretton. Initial stress levels began to decline as your friendly manager made me feel welcome. Quickly it must have become clear to Sharlene that I didn't know anything about dresses or styles. She professionally gave suggestions in an unhurried, casual manner.
I stayed in your store for approximately an hour and a half - unprecidented for me in any store. I listened as she approached other customers in the same friendly manner.
I feel I have gained and insight into 'my style', gained a friend/advisor, and purchased the first of what will be many Annah Stretton outfits.
I live in Arrowtown, I will be beating a path to Dunedin more frequently from now.
Thank you, and especially Sharlene for giving me an A-Ha moment. At 47 it's been a long time coming.
Kind regards,
Ali Soper

Hi Annah
I just want to give some feedback. I happened to wander into the Pukekohe store today, not really looking for anything and somehow came out some $600 later.
Annette was there and before I knew it I was trying on various styles. She was fantastic showing me how to wear the same bits of clothing in different ways which is very beneficial when you are a single mum (i.e. for maximising the looks from one piece of clothing). I actually offered to pay her to take me shopping she was so great. Having great clothing is one thing but having the staff there to show you how to put it all together in another thing. And I guess it worked for you because I had no intention of buying anything, I was just interested to see what you had in store.
I also wanted to thank you for creating styles which can be warn in a variety of ways. I look forward to visiting the store again!
Thank you
Cheryl

Hi there,
I wanted to comment on the fantastic level of salesmanship we encountered today on our shopping travels.
We were in the Tauranga store for ages. The clothing is fantastic and the sales support equal to that of the clothing. Although unable to actually purchase the outfit at this time due to financial status, we will be back. My friend’s parting comment was if I hadn't taken her there first she may have bought an outfit today. Now nothing is as exciting or as wearable as Annah.S. I thought that said it all.
Thanks for your time.
Kim

To who it may concern,
Just want to say what fantastic staff you have in the Annah.S shop in Feilding.
I have never been into one of your shops as I always thought they were for the young and trendy. Something enticed me into the Feilding store and I was soon mesmerized by your clothes and the helpful, friendly staff who showed a great knowledge and passion for the clothes they were selling.
I came home with an armful of clothes and my niece also brought a lovely jacket.
I will definitely be returning to your Feilding shop and thank you to your staff for such a positive clothes shopping experience.
Kind regards,
Catherine Perrry

Hi Annah,
I went to your new Brisbane store this afternoon (braving our latest round of storms) and it was fantastic. Belinda was great - so helpful and friendly - and despite having just returned from a holiday in Akld where I spent about $1,000 on clothes at your Ponsonby & Newmarket stores I still managed to spend just under $1200 again today (I was only going in for the Secret Admirer Top!) I am so pleased with my selections and can't wait to take other Brisbanites along.
I have been buying your clothes for a few years now (usually on trips back to NZ and also on-line - Hi Delia!) and think it's great that you have opened in Brisbane. I am finding that each season I like more and more of the range. Keep up the good work and good luck for the Qld stores.

This isn't a query, but a very big Thank You.
I visited your Palmerston North branch store yesterday looking for an outfit suitable to wear to my daughter’s wedding. Not only was I enraptured with the colours and materials; what made my trip perfect was the excellent service shown me by the store person, Ali. She was very patient, knew what she was talking about, giving me honest advice and showing me clothes that best suited my shape. I really appreciated her honesty and wasn't the usual type salesperson, pushing clothes on me just to make any sale. The combination of her manner and the beautiful garments made the sale, which was way more than I had intended to spend on an outfit. She must be congratulated! I know now where I will look first on my next spend!

Hi
This morning I was at your Pukekohe store and would just like to make a compliment regarding the salesperson there. She made me feel absolutely fantastic when I was having a rather bad day. I went away with purchases that I am happy with and she couldn't have been more than helpful.
Not often I compliment store staff but this is deserved.
Thanks
Julie

Morning,
Spot the Chameleon dress. I would like to say a big thanks to Clelia in your new Pukekohe shop for choosing this dress for me, it is excellent & does quite well to hide the extra 10kg's I am carrying since stopping smoking. We were in the Legend's Lounge, hence the netball stars in our Party.
Cheers

Wow. You are very clever! I just bought the ltd edition black Chameleon Dress in Tirau... I can't wait to wear it. Just wanted to give you feedback on how amazing it is. My husband loves it too. We travel a lot, so I love that I can bunch it up and stick it in my bag with no worries about wrinkling, it's more than one outfit - and it's light! You're a star.
Thanks, Dawn

Hi
Last Tuesday (April 12) I had an enjoyable shopping experience at your Annah.S store at the Mount.

I have to say as I'm a size 14 -16 figure I hesitantly went into the shop expecting to walk in and out within about five minutes. However, while I was admiring some of the dresses (the one's you can wear a few different ways) I was approached by the sales person, Michelle. She kindly offered to assist me and asked was there anything in particular I was looking for.
My first question to her was 'what size do your clothes go up to"?, and to my surprise she advised they did in fact make and sell size 14 and 16's and bigger.
Michelle then allowed me to try on what I thought I liked etc which was the dresses that you can wear in many ways etc but with my figure of top heavy, a bit of a tummy, and slim legs, the dress was lovely but not flattering on my figure.
So I allowed Michelle to go to work - and have to say I am one very happy customer ... she got out clothes and combinations of clothes that I would never have chosen myself , she showed me how to wear them what I could add to them but most of all she chose clothes for me that down played my flaws (big boobs and tum) and highlighted my assets , my legs ..
Michelle listened to what I liked but also understood what I felt comfortable in wearing.
I have to say it was the best clothes shopping experience I had because she made me feel like a million dollars and yes the clothes look great on me. She simply gave me the Trinny and Susannah experience of taking a genuine interest in what I liked but also what I would look good in, taking into account my body shape.
SO a HUGE thank you to Michelle of the Mount for taking her time in assisting me and showing me several different ways to wear different things and how adding a petticoat etc changes the look of an outfit etc. I also thank her for her honesty.
I am one totally happy and satisfied customer and will be recommending my friends to go and shop at Annah.S too.
Please pass on my grateful thanks to Michelle - she made my day :)
Kind regards
Ang

Hi Annah
Just wanted to email a commendation for the amazing sales and customer service experience that I had on Saturday in your Ponsonby store.
I went in just to have a look not really with the intention of buying rather just to admire and appreciate the new range and landed up buying two lovely items. The most beautiful navy satin and lace camisole and navy skirt with a brown shimmer to it. Sizing perfect thankfully a touch more generous than last year, price point affordable, quality outstanding but was also blown away but the bubbly enthusiastic lady that helped me who had a genuine ability to sell a product she loves and to draw me out of myself - building self esteem while making the customer service experience quiet special.
I think her name was Isobel?? Not sure - dark brown hair and not a "lollipop" like myself
Heaps of thanks.
Kind Regards
Tracy

Dear Annah,
I just wanted to write and thank you for the $50 voucher you sent me recently. I had purchased clothes from Danelle in Invercargill, she is just lovely! She certainly went the extra mile to help out knowing we were finalists in the Sharemilker of the Year competition, and invited me to take my dress back in, with the shawl I would be wearing, before the event so she could decorate them with amazingly created roses.
We came Runner-up on the night which was very exciting, and you will be pleased to know I had numerous comments about my dress, even from some of the dairy farming husbands! I have also had an email since then from the Southland Convenor asking where I got my dress because her friend loved it and wants one to wear at the National Awards dinner in Queenstown in May. I'm just hoping she gets a different one so I can wear mine again!
Thank you again, and I am delighted to have an Annah S store to shop in Invercargill as I was a probably too frequent customer for my bank account's liking when we lived in Pukekohe, but I really love your clothes, and am still able to wear clothes I bought several years ago which is a testimony to your design skills.
Regards,
Kim

Hi my name is Linnet Burns and I was able to hear you speak at the SIDE event last June. My husband and I both here and were impressed with some things you said about staff. Thank you for being so honest and straight forward.
So when I've made it into the Manager of the Year Dairy awards and the top 6 for Southland I thought it's time to get something special and nice to fit my body.
I'm a size 20 and have very large breasts and at moment breast feeding too.
I have never liked shopping because I will see things and like but when put on they either they don't go over my breasts and I have to go up size for them or the are tight and I feel uncomfortable.
But for some reason this day I said to my friend I heard you speak and how your staff know their clothes and women and I have a reason to try label clothes I guess because of the price I always stay away. Invercargill store.
So I walked in and Danelle greeted me and ask how she can help. She looked me over and said I have just the dress and with that she got one dress. Now I’m thinking whatever but will try, was laughing a little as it was so small wrapped I thought she didnt notice I was big.
So I try on the dress and she fits it to me and wow I was impressed. I felt great and best part I didnt stand there thinking I need to buy this and that to cover up bra, I was relaxed and didnt see my bum or tummy. So I have the dress I thought better look at price and I have to say once I saw $420 I wish I never tried on cause I felt so good I wanted it but that was too much for me.
So I'm between a rock and hard place because the way I felt in the dress was important to me and hard to achieve.
When home a put on facebook 'how much is too much for a dress' and everyone supported me getting the dress.
So I talked to husband and he said straight out 'why don't you have the dress' I said the price and he said 'And you not easy to please and you can spoil yourself you know." Ok now just me thinking hard on price, so I decide the next day to try all Label placed in town and if I can't find anything I will get the dress.
A lot of shops had something but it was all dark black or blue and I wanted colour.
One place made me feel like shit and I wanted to cry as when I walked in she asked the other lady if she could help but looked at me and carried on doing a job. Felt like that since in Pretty Women when they tell her this shop is not for her as they judged a book by the cover.
Anyway by now my friend went back and put the dress on hold as it was looking like nothing would be the same in feelings or looks. At the end of all the shops I found nothing.
So with the shoes I would wear I went back to try the dress on and if it gave me the same feelings it was sold.
Danelle was great when I arrived and got the toy box out for my kids which helps when you are shopping I know with 3 under 5 years. lol
I stood in front of the mirror and with the shoes it was sold. So me being me I tried for discount with cash but she said no and why.
I have the dress Red Wrap knee height and I can't wait till next Saturday to wow my husband and friends.
So I am writing to say thank you for designing a dress that is perfect for my figure and I am telling everyone about your shop and Danelle and the bad one.
I am getting my hair done that lunch and Danelle has said I am free to pop in and she will help me out. Great after service.
I was so pleased and believe in what you say about the right staff. she made me feel on top of the world and that not easy when you are big like me. I thanked Danelle in person and she said she loves her job and it shows. She is an asset to you and well worth keeping.
Thank you and if I win I'll send you a photo of me in dress.
Thank you once again, you have made a believer out me.
Regards Linnet

Hi there,
I just wanted to let you know that I was in the New Plymouth store on Saturday and served by Lesley.
She is very good at her job and knows her colours, and fashion sense. She was helpful, bubbly and really nice to deal with and I thought you should know.

Hi
Was in the Pukekohe store buying another dress when I told them about the laugh I had wearing the "fairy" chameleon dress to the Auckland Telecom Derby day. I went with my cousin and we joined 8 other ladies at the table (didn't know any of them), in the fashion in the field area. After a couple of glasses of bubbles I went to the loos and on a whim decided to have a change of outfit!! Whipped my dress inside out and went back to the table looking like a new woman! Raised a few eyebrows and got some comments and a laugh from my cousin!
Love the dress and the dinky bag it travels in.
Elaine.

I called to your shop in Otaki on Monday and was most intelligently served by your employee Niki.
I found her to be most helpful and well informed with both you and your clients interests well balanced.
Niki was great and I purchased 2 items – I will be back.

Hi,
I want to acknowledge the wonderful service I received at your store in Palmerston North on Saturday last. I was met my "Operator GP" (according to the receipt).
I just wanted you to know what a fantastic experience I had, and whilst "GP" didn't have to do much to convince me about the Bada Bing jacket I bought I enjoyed the time I spend in store and would happily return.
Well done GP - can you pass my compliments to her.
Kind Regards
Linda

Dear Annah,
Just want to say I had a fab 2 hours in your Orewa store today and I am so pleased to see you have opened there again!
Robin, in store today, was just superb - professional, friendly, helpful, honest, enthusiastic, and an eye for what looked right. I felt like she was my 'personal shopper' yet I noticed she was giving equal attention to all the others in store.
I have been a fan of 'Annah S' ever since I returned from the UK in 2004; (I have even bought from your Invercargill store). Whenever I wear 'Annah S', I am complimented on the clothes regardless of which country I am in, and people always want to know where I get them. (Of course, I love saying: "Annah Stretton, a NZ designer!")
I am even complimented in photographs when wearing your clothes!
Today I was thrilled as I walked away with 12 pieces. (Well, 11, and one pre-paid for, on order from another store I'm yet to pick up.) And none of them black; no trou & 5 dresses! I even had to buy a coat in two colours. :-)
I love the way you design for real women; with colour, texture and flair. I'm a bit of a practical tomboy, but you make me feel feminine and confident.
I wish you every success in the re-opening of your shop. Please pass on my very many thanks to Robin for her service today. It was a pleasure to have the advice of someone with so much skill and I compliment you on your selection of staff.
Unfortunately I have recently moved to Launceston in Tasmania, but I will be back in store whenever in NZ. If you are ever thinking of branching out to Australia, the women in Launceston would love you!
Warm regards
Debbie

Met your girls in Sydney today & I wanted to tell you how sweet, kind & helpful they were to me. Belinda 'wrapped me up' & was so patient & so understanding. I just wanted to let you know what a HUGE impression your girls are making over here in Oz. Thank you!
Kindest wishes, Lisa.
(Yes, I did place an order & I'm certain that it won't be the last one!)

Annah,
Thank you for taking time to write us a note. We are excited that Kate will be wearing her Baby Didion Dress for her school ball. We brought the ‘shot’ dusky pink one and we really do appreciate it that you distributed the other one up North so it lessened the chance of someone local buying it. I have and will continue to be a very loyal shopper in your store, thanks again.
Special mention must be made to Danelle in your Invercargill store. What an asset for your business! She was amazing and very genuine. When Kate came out in the dress she (Danelle) actually got emotional-she loves your garments so much and is so committed to get the right garment for the right person-What a treasure!

Hello,
I would like to tell you that last Thursday 24th February I went to Annah S in Taupo looking for something to wear to a wedding. The lovely Lys made shopping fun and put me at ease straight away. She was honest in what suited me and what did not. I ended up buying a lovely dress and a top and I am so excited now about the wedding I am attending, as I have a lovely dress to wear.
Lys is the best shop assistant I have ever come across and I had to let you know that she made my day and I am now telling everyone to go to Taupo shopping at Annah S when they want something special.

I would like to advise you of the wonderful service I got at your Taupo store yesterday. I purchased 3 dresses from Lesley, dresses that I would not have picked for myself off the rack. Once I tried these on they looked and felt great. The service I received was friendly, warm and welcoming. It was nice to walk into a store where someone instantly knew what would suite my body shape, someone that knew how to sell, obviously I walked out of the shop with 3 items I was not intending to buy. I equally have found the same service from Rose in Paraparumu. These ladies "go the extra mile"

Evening
I just recently purchased a lovely two piece from Annah's selection, in Whangamata.
I would just like to say that the experience was wonderful thanks to Annette (Tauranga Manager).
I have been paying off my skirt and top on lay-by and finally it arrived two days ago. Very excited.
Thanks Annette for finding something for my "Rose bud" figure and showing me the zillions way to wear it. You are very fashionable and an extremely good saleswomen.
Thanks

Hi, Just wanted to let you know I was so rapt to be able to buy a designer dress off the rack at your High Street, ChCh store, last weekend. I am tall and an XL/18 so thought it was a waste of time going in. (I was looking for a dress to wear to my son's wedding in October). The ladies were all great, friendly and helpful. There was a lovely girl, Izy, who helped me and my sister, didn't make me feel I was in the wrong place as some stores do when you are a bit larger. It was nice to know I can actually get something lovely at your store.
Many thanks
Judith

Hi Annah,
I had the pleasure of shopping in your store yesterday as I had time to fill in before getting my ride home, Your Manager is so fantastic at her job, she wears your clothes with absolute passion, you could not get a better person, I was so impressed with her I could not think of a better way than to express my thoughts with you, also your product is so beautiful and so feminine, I was very impressed, I was there when a dress was sold and the lady that brought it was a changed lady, she felt so good about herself after her purchase, it was a pleasure to see, Sharlene is truly an asset to your business, thank you for your time.

Good Afternoon
I just wanted to send a quick email saying how fantastic my shopping experience was in the Ponsonby store.
Too often we only take the time to complain, but forget to say OMG that was the best.
On Friday I went in to look at the Stitch n bitch range. I had the most wonderful hour of fun.
And on my door step this morning was the item I purchased. I can't wait to start it.
Please pass my heartfelt thanks to the wonderful lady at the Ponsonby store. As I will be back (esp for the purple and pink skirt) and I will tell all of my friends.
Kind Regards

I just wanted to pass on my thanks to the amazing store manager of your Ponsonby branch, Leslie (I hope I spelt her name correctly!).
A friend and I came to the Ponsonby store on Saturday morning with the sole intention of only purchasing a Stitch N Bitch parcel each. We left the store over an hour later, with Leslie having shown us countless ways of how to wear our new dresses, what colours suited us, what way to wear them and what we should do with them.
She most absolutely went out of her way to help us and gave us invaluable information about both our colours and how to make the most of our body types (and we are not teeny teenagers so we definitely need the extra help!!!). I can't thank her enough for all of her help, and from now on when I purchase any of Annah's clothing it will most definitely be from her store.
Thanks again Leslie,
Lisa

Hi ANNAH
Thank you Annah for the card you sent me, thanking me for my visit and purchases at the Tauranga store in December. I was delighted with the two dresses I bought and the genuine and enthusiastic assistance I received from your lovely sales lady. I was also given your book Rag to Mag from her. My hubby insisted I take both as I couldn't decide.
I bought SEAHORSE dress navy and NU MELANIA blue both of which I have received many comments of where did you get that dress!!
The sea horse navy was for my 60th birthday on 28th December at The Mount, we live in Whangarei!!!
I loved your book Annah I found it very inspirational. I Lived in the Waikato for a number of years and have always taken an interest in your company. I bought a pair of boot-leg URBAN ROSE black pants at your Matamata store in the late 90's. I've still got them.!!! I seem to collect as well!!
Cheers Chrissy

Hi staff,
I promised the girls in the Dunedin shop whilst there on a visit in Oct 2010 that I would let you know how helpful they were to me. So can you please pass on my belated big thanks to them especially the 2 staff that assisted me and reassured me the dress suited me and so kindly tracked down my size and colour and got it delivered from Whangarei by courier
The funny thing is that I actually live 2 hours North of Whangarei
The other thing is that I have never worn a dress in 27 years--- yes that is true apart from a nurses uniform!!!.
So when my daughter told me she was getting married at the beginning of last year I thought to myself now is the time........I cannot get away with my jeans anymore!!!
The wedding was in our neighbours garden on the 8th January,
I wore silver sandals , had matching silver clutch bag and because of the detail around the neck line I wore a corsage as you will see.
I have to say that for not having worn a dress in 27 years I felt very comfortable in this one
and have attached a couple of pics for you
Kind regards
Fidelma

I have had the most wonderful experience today thanks to Isabella in your Christchurch store and the fab frocks you design. I had to write to you to tell you how wonderful she was, but just to give you some perspective of how much this experience meant to me, I thought I would give you some background...
5 years ago I worked as a teacher in the city, and High Street was my stomping ground. I was good friends with the local shop owners Nicky from 'Novak', Malaika from 'Tango', and James from 'Embassy', and spent many a lunch hour and evening enjoying the cool vibe of High Street and trying on and purchasing beautiful, well made clothes. I was a size 8 and a good wedge of my income was spent on fashion. I had a thing about NZ designers and loved especially buying new Zana Feuchs and Juliette Hogan outfits among others. I enjoyed going to the salon regularly to get what I considered essential almost full body waxing and the odd facial, massage... whatever I felt like.
These days I am at home mother of 3 children under 3.5. Since having my 1st daughter I have slowly but surely completely lost all my confidence in fashion. Now on one income, I don't have the funds to spend I used to, I am now a size 12-14, and as I spend most days covered in food and puke, and it is a good day if I get to shower let alone straighten my hair and fluff some mineral foundation on. I spend most of my time wearing the same boring outfit until it’s just too gross and smelly and needs a wash. As far as the grooming goes, legs and underarms get waxed perhaps once a fortnight, if we are ever going out (maybe 3 times a year?) the upper lip gets waxed in the bathroom, and it’s a good thing the fuller eyebrow look has come back as I realised when plucking them this Christmas that last Christmas was the last time I did it.
My outfits are meaningless and I feel boring and frumpy but do not know what to do about it, as when I go to buy myself something I find myself completely unaware of what looks good and suits me. I find myself both scared of and unexcited by the clothes. Every shopping experience in the last few years has been painful. I have to psych myself up knowing that nothing I like will look good, that I will have to make the right decision taking into account some acceptance of my weight these days, but not waste money on something that I will hate when I get home and never wear. I always come home feeling like crap. Don't get me wrong, I love being a mother, and I love dressing up my wee ones like the gorgeous little dolls they are, but I hate wearing boring clothes and I hate being sloppy! I find life these days so busy and so rewarding, but I have gone from being the sun of my universe to Pluto. Which most of the time I honestly don't mind. But then there are those times when it matters, like the upcoming wedding I need an outfit for. My husband is best man and our daughters are flower girls. And for once I just want to feel great, all dressed up in a beautiful environment, having a great time! It just seemed like too much to expect. I began weight watchers and have started dropping a few kilos. I'd noticed the Annah Stretton shop a few times and had been very intrigued by the front window. So I looked it up and spent a few evenings browsing your website. I started to get a little excited about what I might find. Tentatively I decided to go frock shopping this morning. I told my husband he was looking after the children and brought my sister along for support and advice because I certainly didn't expect to get any from assistants.
We walked in to a rather buzzing shop - there was one woman trying outfits on, and a good 5-6 women looking around (that's definitely buzzing for Chch) - as we walked in, we were greeted by two smiling ladies who asked us how we were. I told of the upcoming wedding, which delighted both ladies, one of whom stood back to get a good look at me and ask me what colours I like, while the other simultaneously took dresses off the rack for me to nod or nay. We were in the shop not even an hour, but it felt like a day. I had the time of my life, I felt so happy! I don't know if I sound silly saying all of this, but honestly, I have not felt so good in years. I felt like crying when we left, and I have one dress on lay-by and three others which I love and make me hope I have occasions to but for in the near future. Isabella and the other assistant made me feel confident and fabulous. All while making the other lady trying dresses on feel exactly the same way. The smile on her face would've been a big as the smile on mine. We had such fun. Your dresses feel so good to wear, I felt like a million dollars and I'm now so excited about this wedding!
I'm still smiling now, and while I am living in the moment, enjoying these years that my babies are little as I know they will go fast, I am now also looking forward to the time in a few years when I will be able to enjoy dressing up again.
Isabella is a star, and I'm sure you must know that and appreciate her. I was surprised to hear before we left that she is a student just out of school, as I would've expected her to be much older. She is so excited by what she does, I could tell she loved every minute dressing us up. She's also knowledgeable and considerate - the other assistant is new - and the way Isabella was explaining/reminding her how to do things like wrap us up, or arrange the 10-different-dresses dress was lovely. My sister and I were so taken aback by the clothes and Isabella that we have decided to take our beautiful but shy mother in as soon as we can, for some beautiful new clothes and an uplifting confidence building session with Isabella.
Yours,
Victoria

Hi there Annah
I was in the audience when you addressed a group of Optometrists a while ago. I have remembered much of what was said that evening and it lead me to one of your stores last weekend. (I know - it took me a while!)
Matakana was extremely busy and the store full of woman, and the odd bloke - mine included.
Amongst the chaos I was approached by both sales woman with big smiles who were immaculately dressed.
The experience that followed what nothing short of amazing! I left with not one but three pieces of clothing...
I really appreciated the level of service I received. The time spent with me and expert advice was fantastic.
As I explained it was my 40th birthday that weekend I was treated to a copy of your book which I have had my nose in ever since.
I headed into work this morning with my latest purchase on, raving about the experience when my boss announced she had been given the same book by her son for Xmas. We were comparing notes over morning tea!
I do not think I would have ventured into one of your stores if I hadn't heard you speak that evening. I had thought I was not one of your clients due to size and affordability.
How wrong was I?
After 25 years in Customer Service myself I was pleased to learn something new from the team at Matakana.
Thanks again to Debbie (Matakana Manager).

Dear Annah
I have just finished reading your blog on service. And I have to agree with you :)
I have recently brought my gorgeous wedding dress (mischief rose) from your Wellington store, and the lovely lady that looked after me there was Marlena. Marlena was wonderful from the moment I walked in. I had been to a few other shops in town that day and was feeling really down hearted about finding a gorgeous dress, that looked enough like a wedding dress, but not the standard (its my 2nd time), and one that fitted me - size 16-20!
When my sister and I walked in which was pretty much just before closing on a Sunday afternoon, another girl originally came to talk to us, but it was Marlena that was amazing and showing me many of the dresses and helping me try them on. She was so stylie and professional with the right friendly laid back attitude, and she really made all the difference. Just when I thought your dresses were out of my league she brought into the changing room mischief rose, and wow it is stunning!! I feel like a princess in that dress! She took extra time with us (after closing) and helped with shoes and a necklace, and I thought just did more than I expected from a retailer, it was wonderful service!
So thank you Annah for the design and the store, and thank you so much to Marlena for all her help and time. I really really appreciated it. We are in the process of going to try on the Jimmy dress for my sisters as a matching bridesmaids dress, hope it works! If it does its so exciting we will have a full on Annah Stretton wedding!
Merry Christmas
Paula

I just want to say a big thank you to all your team. I went into your Ch-ch high street store feeling fat and frumpy and sure I wasn't going to find the outfit I had been searching for for weeks and came out feeling gorgeous. Every one of the beautiful dresses your lovely manager (and her beautiful daughter the next time I went in) gave me to try on looked fantastic and I had trouble deciding which to buy. I own several of your dresses now

Thank you, thank you, thank you.
You guys wouldn’t really like me as I’m not a shopper, but after visiting your Christchurch store they have changed my view on shopping for a dress.
I was basically told on a Friday that I was to be going to the Canterbury Awards the following Tuesday with my work. Oh and it was black tie, so for women, obviously evening wear.
My husband was OK, he’s had his kilt tucked away since we arrived here 5 years ago from the UK. But what was I to wear, where would I go in Christchurch to find a decent enough dress?
I was recommended Annah Stretton by a friend, so off we went that Saturday morning, and I must admit I was not really looking forward to ‘shopping’. But it’s the best dress buying experience I’ve ever had. My husband actually picked out the eventual purchase, but the assistance showed me different ways to wear it, recommended the types of shoes that would go with it and even though they were quite busy, they made me feel as if I was the only person in the shop, they even involved my husband in showing us how to alter looks with putting in rosettes to shorten the dress and different ways to tie the belt.
My husband was also treated to seeing another customer being shown one of the Chameleons and all the ways she could wear it, whilst I was in the changing rooms. He was so impressed with it, you never know my next dress might just be one!
Your assistants were fantastic without being over the top. They were completely honest when something didn’t suit me and not too pushy to make me buy anything. But when I tried on ‘the one’, wow did they and the dress make me feel special. From now on for a dress for an occasion I know where I’ll be heading. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole hopping experience
So once again thank you very much.

Hi there,
I'd just like to comment on the brilliant service that I have received from two of your stores.
From the moment I walked into the Whangamata store I was made feel welcome, dresses that I would never consider trying were suggested and looked great on!
I absolutely love going into that shop and always leave feeling great!
I also had a similar experience in New Market (the lady was from your Whitianga shop and was up there training I think).
They both came at me with dresses - it was honestly like a scene out of pretty woman.
- I walked away with 3 dresses and a wrap thingee that I wear all the time and love every one of them.
I am hooked! - your clothes fit my kiwi shape perfectly.
My next purchase is going to be the black and the white pin stripey dresses. They're both great and awesome for my corporate job.
I hope you all have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Thanks & Best Regards
Kim

Hi Annah
I just wanted to give you some positive feedback on two of your stores – Invercargill and Christchurch.
My younger sister is getting married in January and I tried clothes on in the Invercargill store with the lovely Danelle before taking Mum into the Christchurch store on Friday to sort out clothes for both of us.
We are, to put it bluntly, blown away by the amazing service we received. My mother is self conscious about her figure, having suffered an accident which makes it difficult for her to exercise. On a previous occasion she had visited a bridal shop in Merivale only to be firstly ignored by the owner and then told there was “nothing there to suit her”. The ladies who served us in your Christchurch store were worlds away from that experience and were at great pains to put Mum at ease. They clearly love their work and are passionate about the Annah S brand. An event which my mother had been dreading was turned into the most fabulous “dress up” session.
Needless to say we both bought fantastic outfits on Friday and I look forward to hearing many comments in January about how beautiful my mother looks.
Thank you so much for catering to people who do not fit the classic definitions of beauty.
Regards
Jodi

Hi,
I just wanted to drop an email to you guys at head office to let you know that yesterday I walked past your shop in Mount Maunganui and in the window I saw the most amazing dress displayed beautifully.
I actually tried the dress on, loved it and bought it.
I have to say that the manager (Michelle) there is very talented.
The dress was displayed backwards I would never of thought to do that she is clearly extremely creative she showed me so many options of how to wear it, great imagination her service and energy was amazing.
So one happy shopper
Thanks

Dear Annah Stretton,
Just a note of thanks to the best customer service I receive in your Dunedin store. Sharlene Bancroft is so Professional, Kind, has great funky fashion sense, and I love shopping there and hope she goes far in Stretton world. So thank you very much.

Just a quick note in response to your blog. I've been into the Dunedin, Christchurch, and Wellington stores (all on more than one occasion), did not know the sales assistant from a bar of soap and I can say that they were truly in the league of the best service I've ever had. It didn't matter whether I was buying or browsing, or whether I tried anything on - they were welcoming, warm, friendly, genuine, and most helpful. Keep up the good work ladies - good service is hard to find these days.

Hi Annah
I took my 22year old daughter to Newmarket for a dress for graduation next month. Your shop assistant was great. She was just new. She was full of ideas and suggestions of how to accessorise and really connected with Genevieve. Very complementary , in an honest kind of way, of my beautiful daughter which made her feel great. The only negative feedback (and I really do have to think hard to find one) was that when she realised that there wasn’t anything in Genevieve’s size (16+) and meet her requirements she kept trying a wee bit too long but this was more to make Genevieve happy than to sell something I think. Top marks – great salesperson.
Kind regards

Hi Annah
Thank you so much for your personal card. I have since gone back and purchased a little cream top to go with the wrap around skirt and camisole and brown jacket I brought from your store down here. The lady helping me was tremendous. I hate shopping and she spent two hours till 6.oo at night to help me choose an outfit I was happy with for my son's wedding.
At the wedding I was told several times how lovely my skirt was so told them where I got it from. The Bride’s mother had purchased an outfit from Anna S in Hamilton as well. It was a two piece in pink and lavender with frill or ruffles down the front. Your clothes were well represented at the wedding.
Once again thank you so much for employing a great sales lady and for the personal touch of the card.

Hi Annah/Management Team,
I would just like to give some feedback on the new staff member you have at Coastlands, Paraparaumu. I find nothing worse than being badgered and being told what would look good on me etc and have encountered this in many stores before walking out with purchasing nothing.
Glenda was fabulous, she asked how my day was and basically left me to it for awhile before asking if there was anything in particular I was looking for and it just so happens I was looking for a dress for the races. I have absolutely no confidence when wearing dresses (bad legs/arms!!) and told her what I was looking for…..she suggested a dress which I loved immediately and we also picked out about 10 others. We both had a feeling the dress she picked would be the one so we left to last and of course it was. (Coral Dress by the way)
I had an absolute ball with Glenda, she made me feel at ease, was friendly, complementary, down-to-earth, caring and honest (which a lot of people are not and just want you to buy something even if it looks terrible!). Not only would I go back to your boutique but will look especially forward to it if Glenda is working.
Thanks for making a great choice and please pass my feedback on.
Regards
Kelly

I just would like to say what a wonderful manager you have in Maree in your Rotorua store. Yesterday by chance I pop into your store over there. She was on the phone on my arrival, obviously a work call. Which after a few minutes she explained to the person on the other end that she needed to go. Then came straight to me asking if there was something in particular I was looking for. I indicated just something that not really but perhaps something ‘pretty and florally’ though I was just looking. She instantly pulled a couple of things off the racks, told me to put back what I was looking at. Told me about my shape / figure and why she had done what she had. She then gave me a number of options to try on (and best for me was very efficient about it!). Within, 20 mins I had purchased one outfit and had 2 others on lay buy. She told me how to maximise where I could wear my outfits, how to mix and match and offered new things to consider later down the track.
A real credit to you, your team, your training and culture.
Though I live in Tauranga I would go back to her shop specifically. Not because there is anything wrong with your store in Tauranga (though the parking is always a personal issue for me), just because I happened to drive passed and see the window display, stopped due to this and then got such great service. It is the service that finally sells something, though the choice was magnificent and the best I have encountered in some time.
Highest credit to all.
Regards
Debra

Hello Annah
At Show weekend my sister and I were looking for an outfit to wear at her son's wedding. We browsed a number of shops before entering yours on High Street, in Christchurch. We had the most wonderful shopping experience in your store being assisted by Isobel. Her attention to detail was refreshing and she was bright, vivacious and extremely creative.
Not only was she very helpful but she made a person feel at ease no matter who they were. Further to that she has made me feel like returning to the store to also look for a garment to wear to this wedding. Isobel and your store has now been a talking point and I felt I wanted to make you aware of the wonderful asset you have in your store, that is if you don't know already.
Many Thanks
Catherine

Good morning,
My name is Linda Farley and I met you in Wanganui during your promotional tour for Wise Heart. I commented that I wished you would design clothes to suit women who had undergone mastectomies and you advised me to go to Wellington to consult your store manager there. I did! Unfortunately the store manager was away, but there was an excellent person there who was training a new employee. I had a ball! And I will go back to meet your manager.
So part of the reason for this email is to tell you that I apologise for looking at your advertisements and only seeing the frocks I couldn't wear ( it's interesting that I didn't recognise that I did that until I reviewed Annah Stretton advertisements again) and for thanking you for your fab designs and wonderful training of your staff. Having been a trainer of trainers until I "retired" from the formal workforce several years ago at 53, I recognise the work your staff are putting into their positions. Congratulations!
Another reason for emailing is to tell you that I am really happy to buy Annah Stretton clothing because it is almost dateless and lasts through season after season. I went through my wardrobe yesterday and found 7 Annah Stretton (Annah S) garments. I still wear all of them and there are more that have been relegated to my farm work now. If that isn't value for money what is?
What did I buy in Wellington? A Chameleon Wrap Dress "Sweet Dreams", (having a great time with that and rubber bands, add ons etc) AND a dress "Peaches on the Beach" black, AND "Foxi Cardi" red. I absolutely wish I could buy them in Wanganui. If you ever take a chance on this city again I will be waiting at the door. We've grown as a city since you closed and I know that there are people here who would sell your label. Can I ask to just do the back room work such as the ironing? Just to be able to handle your clothes would be a privilege.
Thank you.
Linda

Hello Annah,
I just needed to email and say that recently I experienced such professionalism and friendliness in the service from your Dunedin Boutique. I’m a former model and Miss Otago who has put on weight and trying to find stylish garments that are flattering to a size 16 with a high expectation of service and unpretentiousness , that never helps the situation when trying on clothes being a little self conscious, I was so happy to be in your boutique I enjoyed every minute in there and could have stayed all day it was a pleasure, I adore what I bought and even though I am losing the weight I know that every time I go to buy there it will be not only a sale but a pleasurable experience thanks girls in Dunedin well done and to you Annah to you seem to train your staff impeccably.
Kind regards Vicki

HI Annah,
After reading your blog I thought I ought to tell you of my experience at your shop in Mount Maunganui....
I tend to hate shopping for clothes, other than basics ( t shirts etc). I have issues getting dresses to fit as I am big on the hips and bust but relatively small round the waist.
I had never been in your shop before, but had been round everywhere else in the Mount so went in, not expecting to find anything that would fit.
I don't know the name of the lady who was working (Sun 15th Aug) but she was wonderful!!! She helped me find the PERFECT dress (Tidal Wave in Beige, M), it is so flattering for my figure and fits so well! She was so helpful without being pushy (pushy sales staff means I tend to walk back out the door) and very honest with her opinions on what I tried on, which I appreciated! It was not a dress I would have picked off the rack myself but I am so glad she gave it to me to try on.
I agree that good business needs good sales staff, and you definitely have a winner in the lady at The Mount!!!
Best wishes
Susan

To Annah Stretton or to whom it may concern,
Hi my name is Angel and I am a huge Annah Stretton fan, shopper and lover of all your clothes...
I feel compelled to email you and give you some feedback re one of your staff members at your Whangamata store "Bronagh Withell"
Brona is amazing at her job, simply just too good........I NEVER am able to leave the store empty handed even if it is just a pop in for a browse.
Brona is always honest and knows exactly what will suit and look great on me. She is always the same, friendly and professional, and it's a delight shopping Annah S Whangamata when she is there.
I don't live in Whangamata, but frequent the store regularly.

I thought I would let you know about my wonderful experience in your Whitianga store yesterday.
I have been searching for months for an outfit to wear to a special occasion next weekend, and have had no success.
Yesterday, I finally plucked up the courage to walk into your Whitianga store and enjoyed a very pleasurable hour and a half.
I was amazed at the level of service I encountered from Christine, she really listened to my needs regarding the type of function I was going to, what parts of my body I was self conscience about and then put some beautiful outfits together for me to try on.
Christine was brilliant, her advise made sense, and I was spoilt for choice and ended up with three perfect outfits to choose from.
Although the outfit did cost more than I would usually spend, I feel as though I have made a very worthwhile investment in myself, and I will slowly add other Annah S garments to my wardrobe.
Thank you very much for providing such wonderful products and sales personnel.

To Annah and Marlena and assistant
Just a quick note to say a huge ‘Thank You’ to you all for looking after myself and my daughter and my friend in choosing my wedding dress. Honestly it was my highlight of going to Wellington and I was so excited and you both ladies made me feel very special. I will definitely visit your store next year and thank you for my voucher, I will pop into the Christchurch store when I’m up there. I will definitely send photos.
Love Sharlene

I was just wanting to remark on the Fantastic service I got in your Ponsonby Branch on Sunday 31 October 2010 !!! I never got the young ladies name that helped me, but she certainly is an asset to Annah Stretton. I had already been to a couple of your other branches and the service was very poor. She really made me feel like I was special and was very honest when I tried different garments on. She really did know what she was doing. I tried on a number of dresses which she spent time putting into styles for me. What I purchased in the end is fabulous and she really made me feel & look good. Very very impressed with her, and I will tell other people to go to this young lady she really knows her stuff !!!

Hi there... I just wanted to compliment you on the lady who looks after your Newmarket shop. I went in there on Saturday (of Labour Weekend) to look for a dress and she was fabulous. Friendly and helpful without being pushy, and honest too, when something didn't look quite right.
Actually I have found all your shop assistants to be great, but Saturday's lady was a real stand out.

Hi Annah
Last night was excellent. Oliver Driver was the MC and very entertaining.
It was interesting listening to Hamish White from Tank Marketing and Design
talking about the importance of Branding and the different between a great brand
and an average one, and knowing I am part of a great brand just filled me with
pride.
There were 19 finalists for the retail customer service award and all of these
scored more than 90% when they were secret shopped and telephoned. Those
of us who won places scored 95% or higher, and Annah S was runner up with
Jacqui E & Just Jeans winning 1st equal.
Thank you Annah for paying for us to attend it was so wonderful
to represent you and our brand.
Warm regards

Hey Annah and all,
Thank you for today.
Fantastic! What a difference a little fitting black jacket has made to my wardrobe!!!
I truly can’t believe it. I have had the maddest try-on, with lovely spring sunshine coming in through the open French doors in my bedroom (a gorgeous combination) and everything looked amazing. It has extended my wardrobe to such an extent that truly I am quite excited :) Had to model various options with an assortment of shoes for son and daughter. All approved!
Love it, so just to let you know that I am most definitely an AS fan. More things for my shape please!!!!
xx

"I just wanted to say that I have bought a dress today at the Melbourne craft show and although I did not get to see the demonstration, I can't wait to get it in the mail!
I am blown away by this site and I do not think I will ever shop anywhere else for a dress in the future. I have never spent this amount on a dress in my life and I am a 47 year old woman. I thought that I was past ever wearing a dress again in my life as nothing ever looks good on me or fits me properly.
I am even considering starting up a small business and will call after I receive my dress to find out more. Thank you for an evening of entertainment from my own home.

Hi Annah
I wish to acknowledge the great customer experience I had recently when purchasing my outfit at your Mount store. Michelle was great to deal with. I am not really a shopper, and do not really enjoy looking for clothes as they never look as good on me as they do on the hanger.
I found Michelle to be very professional, friendly and encouraging. She was not pushy and contacted me with information as promised. I enjoyed reading your book that was given to me when completing the purchase.
I am new in business myself, having bought a retail shop at Cherrywood in April. I am, and have always been hot on excellent customer service and it is nice to experience it yourself when on the other side of the counter.
I also appreciate the card sent from yourself in acknowledgement of buying from your store - a good point of difference that you have above so many other retailers.
My son, who was with me as my critic when trying on the outfit, was impressed 'his mum' purchased one of your outfits as he was at a school business, marketing venture in Auckland this year and got to meet you ( Kyle, from Otumoetai College).
Keep up the great work, especially the mentoring and public speaking. Many can learn from you. I will make an effort myself to hear you speak next time you are in Tauranga.
Regards

Hi Annah
I was just reading your blog, and the part about customer services.
I went to your Christchurch Annah Stretton store, and I have to stay the service was FANTASTIC!
I was going to buy a birthday present with my mum (a stitch 'n' bitch) and the staff were very helpful, and when my mum mentioned that I loved your clothing and want to work there when I was older, the staff person asked if I had read your biography (I hadn't), she gave us a signed copy for free!
So, I love your clothes, and I love your service. I don't think you need to worry much about the service, if the Chch store is anything to do with it.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I can't wait until I'm sixteen!!
Thanks,
Eleanor

Hi Annah and everyone at the head office!
Let me just start by saying that I've read the book: from Rag trade to Mag trade and it has been a great inspiration for me.
Big thanks also for great service while trying on dresses at the Annah Stretton store in Christchurch.
I had been trying wedding dresses at what seemed to be a million shops and had almost given up when me and my friend got a quick glimpse at one of the dresses at the Annah Stretton Store. I walked in, thinking that the same pushy sale was going to occur.
Instead the staff was so friendly and accommodating while I visualized myself as a Bride.
I ended up buying the dress and the fitting shoes as well:-)
The dress have had a little bit of a journey, carried on the plane to Sweden and travelled through Australia, Bangkok, London and finally Sweden. It was a success, so again... Many thanks for making my wedding a very special day and turning me into a beautiful bride!
Lots of Love/Alice

Hi
Last Friday I had a wonderful experience shopping at the Mt Maunganui Annah S store because at the very last moment I was looking for something to wear to go to a fundraising ball/concert in Auckland the next night. The manager of the store gave me her full attention, helping me choose a range of items which she thought matched my criteria and preferences, and helped me with advice on accessories and hair styles to suit the dress and my face. It was pouring with rain outside, but inside was a halcyon experience, thanks to the manager’s calmness and warmth. She really seemed to want to help, not just to sell the clothes, but to find out what it was that would suit me best and which I would feel the best in. She got it spot on. I had a tremendous experience at the concert and felt so confident because I had been fortunate enough to have her expert opinion guiding me. It was like having a mixture between an older sister, a best friend and a fashion expert all in one at my fingertips in that store.
She is a gem!
Kind regards,
Kate

I just wanted to write and say how FABULOUS your staff are in the Napier store. I am not sure of the ladies name, but she is a short lady with short dark hair who I dealt with. She was amazing and an absolute asset to your business !
I am an Annah S fan now ... and in love with all the new summer dresses !!

Hi Annah,
I’m writing to give you feedback on one of your stores. A friend and I went into the Petone store on the weekend and were served by Jo.
She was fantastic, friendly but not over the top and encouraged us to try things on making suggestions.
My friend ended up buying 2 outfits which looked fantastic on her and they were a real change to what she usually wears, which was lovely to see.
I loved two dresses but had my heart set on one particular dress, the mini puff Didion. Jo arranged for another size in the blue dress I wanted to try on to be delivered to the store on the Sunday. I thought this was great service!
They then called me about 10 am on the Sunday to say it was there, again fantastic service. On the Monday I decided I would bypass the blue dress and dream about my Didion dress (I am currently at home with our 2 small children and it was kind of expensive since I am not working!), so rang the shop to stay I wouldn’t be in. The sales assistant was very pleasant and didn’t question my decision to pass on the dress.
Today my wonderful husband left me a treasure hunt to do. After several clues later I have just unwrapped my beautiful Didion dress Wow !
I am going to wear my new dress to WOW this weekend and can’t wait.
Keep up the great service Petone!
Michelle

Good morning,
I spent the weekend in Whitianga and visited your store. I would just like to say that Christine at your Whitianga store is a great asset to you.
My friend and I were lucky enough to be the only customers in the store at that particular time of the day so we had the benefit of Christine's undivided attention.
We both tried on lots of different items of clothing and picked up some great fashion advice while we were there. I don't usually shop in your store but had wanted to treat myself to a really good dress this spring/summer. Christine let me try different styles and gave me lots of suggestions but never made me feel pressured to uncomfortable about making a final choice.
I was undecided on a dress so we left the store with a top for my friend and an obi for myself.
The next day we went back with another friend (for a 2nd/3rd opinion) and we were greeted like old friends. Consequently I did purchase a dress and our friend who had just come along for the ride got herself two tops. I was so nice to be so well treated by Christine. I am often quite intimidated by staff in high end shops that seem to take one look at me then choose to either ignore me or look down their noses at me in my jeans etc. Christine really made us feel welcome and we will definitely be back to see her next time we are in Whitianga. She has also given me the confidence to go to your Hamilton store to see what I can find for myself next time I am in need for a treat.
Thank you very much,
Yours sincerely,
Shereen

Hello
Yesterday I read your article in 'Her' that mentioned you would like feedback, positive or negative regarding experiences in your stores.
Since April this year, I have been visiting your Mount store on a Saturday or Sunday attempting to use my gift. Over this period I have been served by the same assistant. On my last visit she made such a lovely impression that I felt that it was worth a mention.
Patiently during my visits she has made suggestions on different outfits, and this Saturday we were finally successful. Nonetheless, it was her personal touch that was wonderful. She recalled from a previous visit that I was interested in a brown belt. Furthermore, she also asked how my young children were, as they had accompanied me on one visit earlier. This lovely person exceeded my expectations of what I perceived a shop assistant could do. Unfortunately, I do not know her name, nevertheless, her personal approach made my experience in your store delightful. For this I would like to say thank you!
- A very happy customer.

Hi Annah,
I have ventured into the battle scarred city of Christchurch today, to meet Angela. I am so grateful for the Chameleon dress, (I ended up buying one myself for the evening as well !) I went to our meeting straight after picking up the dress, the girls were absolutely thrilled ... thank you. Angela is wonderful and so passionate about your clothing, yet again I headed away very satisfied and excited.
kind regards,
Sandy

Hi Annah,
Thanks so much for your lovely card and voucher received last week - a completely unexpected and lovely surprise.
I had been meaning to write to you, funnily enough, when I received your card. I wanted to let you know how great we thought Debbie, your Matakana manager, was when we visited your store. She was friendly, helpful but in no way pushy, enthusiastic about your product and her job. Obviously just the type of person you need there. I love my dresses and skirt and will definitely be visiting your store again.
Kind Regards,
Lisa Baker

Hi Annah,
I thought I would write a short note to say how impressed I was with my very first shopping experience at your Annah S store in Whangamata. Bronagh, your sales assistant was just fantastic. I have been holidaying in Whangamata for many years and have really only been in the store a couple of times. Bronagh put no pressure on me to purchase, she was helpful with ideas of what my requirement was.
In the end I purchased your Josephine Wrap Dress in silver along with a black Garb shrug for a family wedding. If finances had let me I would have also walked out with your Jimmy Jandals dress.
I felt you should know that your staff are doing you proud. I will be back as we are planning our wedding for next year and I just love your Didion Rose dress.
Kind regards,
Carolyn

hello. I just had to let you know about the wonderful experience I
encountered in your Timaru store today. the pretty girl who was
working (I think she was the manager) was amazing. she knew my body
shape and therefore gave me a supply of garments she assured me would
look great, and to my surprise they did - every one of them!! she
showed me countless ways to wear the items which included 3 different
ways to wear a belted jacket! did I mention she was amazing? I will be
making a special trip to Timaru the next time I need a fabulous
outfit. not only is your clothing beautiful, but shop assistants like
the girl in there are a rare find.
signed, a very happy shopper!!

I have feedback concerning your Havelock North Branch.
For the past 3 years I have thought of adding a chameleon dress to my wardrobe, and marvelled at the beautiful fabrics that you have magically combined.
Each season I have visited this store to admire the range and choose which I would like. Your staff have always been helpful.
Today I entered your store and was welcomed very warmly by your store manager, as was every other person who came through the door whilst I was there.
Within minutes she was hanging multiple chameleon dresses in a dressing room for me, I had never tried one on before!
Like a true star she then effortlessly and patiently showed me how many different ways these garments can be worn (with all 4 that I tried!), at the same time chatting to and helping other customers.
I was very impressed by her genuine, friendly approach and her professional attitude. I believe the Havelock Branch finally has a Manager that will be an asset. I am happy to advise that thanks to her outstanding service I am finally going to own a chameleon dress, and I have chosen a second!
Hello,
I would like to introduce myself, I am Sandra Duncan and have over the years been collecting Annah S items for my wardrobe (which I still have). Last weekend I was visiting Taupo for the first time and yet again I found myself in one of your stores. I had purchased a chameleon dress (through an evening in Christchurch with Melissa ) and
was wanting to look at some options what to wear with etc.
I have to congratulate you on your staff, not just in Taupo but all the stores I have visited. I was so wrapped with the service I received in Taupo I gave her a big hug right before I parted with my money!
Anyway please congratulate your staff and yourselves because they are incredible, they truly provide a wonderful shopping experience, with wonderful sound advice excellent garment knowledge and you feel as though you really know how to wear your garment to its full potential. For your information the stores I have visited Invercargill, Dunedin, Christchurch and Taupo. They are a true asset to your company.

Hi Annah
Your manager got in touch this morning to say that there was a perfect dress that had just arrived - the gorgeous Papamoa wrap. It is divine. I also accidentally bought two others which are similarly perfect...Ah, the joy! I love the way they do all the right things for me - nice bust, good waist, then scooting over the bits that don't need to be noticed. You are very clever.
Here's a link to a charity I do some work for which now features some lovely shots of me wearing Milk&Honey. (Defender bags are made from old billboards and are sold to raise money for Burmese kids who live in a rubbish tip in Thailand. Over the last few years, a few of us comedians have raised enough money to build them a school.) The pix are gorgeous.

Lovely day. Back to work now. Hosting an awards evening in Shantytown at the weekend. I will be wearing one of your frocks. It will be hard to decide which one.
Hugs and endless thanks to you,

Hi there
Just to say thank you to Delia for sending down the lovely dress (as I had seen in Rarotonga). I popped in yesterday as I was in the area and was so surprised that it had arrived so promptly – so efficient.
In the end after much deliberation I didn’t actually buy that one but ended up getting another one that suited me a bit better and a jacket as well!! So how good is that.
Also, please could you pass on to the appropriate person how helpful, friendly and lovely the two girls in the High Street shop are. Sometimes we only hear negatives at work so I thought it would be nice for you to know how helpful they were taking lots of time to find the right thing for me, and making sure I got what I wanted.
All in all shopping with your company has been a lovely experience and I have already organised to take my sister-in-law so we can hopefully buy her something for her son’s wedding. Who knows what else I will end up with!
Thanks a lot, I left feeling cheerful and 20 years younger!!!
Best wishes
Liz

HI Annah,
After reading your blog I thought I ought to tell you of my experience at your shop in Mount Maunganui....
She was so helpful without being pushy (pushy sales staff mean I tend to walk back out the door) and very honest with her opinions on what I tried on, which I appreciated! It was not a dress I would have picked off the rack myself but I am so glad she gave it to me to try on.
I agree that good business needs good sales staff, and you definitely have a winner in the lady at The Mount!!!
Best wishes
Susan

I was shopping with 5 of my friends we were helping one of them who does not shop very often she is a busy mum of 3 teenage boys and husband.
Danelle made our experience the best, she was so helpful nothing was a problem, it’s so rear to find such good customer service now days, I will definitely recommend her to others.
I must tell you that your outfits will be worn and seen in Las Vegas next month, our friend and her husband are in a group of 4 couples going to renew their wedding vows, she bought the most beautiful dress and a few other pieces for the trip.

Hi Annah,
I would like you to know about this absolutely amazing shop assistant based at your Havelock north store.
Before I tell you why she is so amazing I will tell you a bit about me. I love the Annah clothing and for years have brought various items like pants, tops, etc however definitely no dresses. For me I have not had in my possession or worn a dress for 25 years long story as I would also I not consider a dress. This changed earlier in the year when I decided I would like to have a dress for my daughters university graduation
Firstly I had a trip to wellington and a Annah S store there, no I did not buy anything but decided to come back and look in the local store as this felt like a manageable option to me.
This is when I meet Brenda. I hesitantly went into the Havelock North store and found this vibrant amazing woman who was not pushy and listened to what I wanted. She inspired me to try on articles and left me to take my time and yes she was helpful when I needed help and inspiration, also her honestly helped to boost my confidence. In doing this I even tried on articles that I would never have considered. Yes I did buy a dress that day after spending time trying on a lot a dresses and having fun. Last week I went into the store again to look at the stock and fill in some time. Yes Brenda was there again and remembered my name and quite a few personal details she learnt from my buying the previous dress. What really hit me was I tried on a dress that I loved the style and when I hesitated Brenda remembered as a Prison Officer this was a similar colour to my uniform. The next day she took the time to phone me and have a chat about the dress I liked as it comes in another colour. Yes this amazing woman is getting the dress in for me to try in another colour which happens to be my favourite colour. After 25 years I am now looking at another dress!!!!!!!
It is inspiring to me that someone can take the time to listen and has brought about a huge change in my life. After 25 years without a dress I now have one I love and am on the way to obtaining a second dress.
Brenda is the best sales assistant I have ever dealt with and so amazing that I felt I had to email and let you know about my experience.
Many thanks for taking the time to read this.
Debbie

Hi There,
Just for the record I would like to congratulate your Invercargill store, on some fantastic service I received about a month ago.
The lady in the store, whose name escapes me, was of creditable service. Nothing seemed a problem, and as I was a little rushed in trying to find a garment for a function that evening, she supplied and hand stitched my garments (hem) in store ( she was of course, always at the service of other customers entering your store). I left with a truly fabulous dress , over top and jewellery . Completely satisfied , I have let plenty of my friends know of the great service and I myself will return to your store on many more occasions . I am not local to Invercargill but would not hesitate to make the hour trip, for the visit..
I congratulate your company, for its great staff selection. Well done.

Hi there, I was in Whitianga yesterday in your store. Christine was really lovely even though I was holding up closing at 5.00 I think! She had lots of good suggestions and I liked her kind and genuine manner. I am now the happy owner of another wrap dress and a couple of short unlined jackets which I will thoroughly enjoy, they are gorgeous garments which I enjoy just seeing in my wardrobe and anticipating wearing :)

Hi Annah
I wanted to congratulate you on your choice of staff for your Taupo store. I was in the store on Saturday (5 July) with my elderly mother-in-law, who was looking for a fabric flower to finish off a hand-knitted alpaca jacket she had made.
The sales lady (sorry, don’t know her name) went above and beyond the call of duty and showed endless patience and understanding with a ‘dithering’ old lady! She even managed to show me some awesome garments for myself, although unfortunately I wasn’t buying on that day ... She did, however, inspire me to visit the Hamilton store a bit more often! And yes, my mother-in-law did buy a flower which complemented the garment perfectly.
Your sales lady/store manager (?) deserves a big fat chocolate fish – rarely have I come across such a pleasant manner combined with confidence and excellent product knowledge. She looked fantastic, too.
Just thought you ought to know!
Cheers
Anne

Hello,
Many thanks for your card which I received today. I was actually in the midst of emailing you to let you know how pleased I was with the service Michelle the Manager gave me.
She tirelessly put together an appropriate outfit for an awards night which I will be attending next week. Michelle's advice was appreciated and this kind of service is what sold me the items.
Many times I have been into fashion shops only to have the attendants manner put me off staying in the shop. So many thanks to Michelle. I will be back again.
Cheers
Merrilee

Dear Annah and Team,
After reading the May monthly Style Up Date it reminded me of the courtesy and superb service that I originally received on my first visit to the Whangarei store late last year and the quality ongoing service both my husband and I have received from Bronwen whether browsing or purchasing.
Usually my personal shopping of beautiful belongings I savour for trips to Auckland because of service and selection.
However late last year while down in Whangarei for an SPCA work related visit I discovered your store although not dressed for the occasion of shopping for the summer party dress, Bronwen welcomed me to try on clothing and after I explained I wished I could move out of my comfort zone with colours and styles found myself in a stunning floral piece with colours that I felt confident in.
As service is a vital deciding point in my purchasing Bronwen's professionalism was the closing of the sale and the stylish hand written docket added a courtesy piece of service.
This piece has become a favourite and much admired.
Later I referred a friend who was searching for a special piece for her daughter’s Wedding in December and explained how comfortable I felt when Bronwen was assisting me choose and how her down to earth delivery of expertise had assisted me in braking through my comfort zone to gain a new confident look.
Both my friend and I were sticklers for the classic black and White look mostly for safe body shape reasons.
Other women I know have also commented on her service and been grateful for the referral for professional one on one service.
Bronwen brings to Northland a quality service and great professionalism of a New Zealand stylish product that rates as first class service.
Yours sincerely
AnnMaree

Dear Annah and your wonderful team,
I have been absolutely blown away by the kindness and warmth from your wonderful staff recently when I was looking for a dress to wear to my son’s wedding and the dilemma of what to wear on my almost hairless head!!! I just wanted to say a huge thank you to you all for putting everything together so seamlessly. The lovely lady who helped my on the Saturday at Matakana organising the silver dress to be sent from Takapuna was a delight. The turban is just amazing and so comfortable and does not look at all like a cap for a person on chemo. It is beautiful and elegant.
I have been singing the praises of you all and your wonderful clothing every since and am looking forward to wearing it in August.
Kind regards
Cushla

Good afternoon,
I was served by Isobel where I got this gorgeous dress and found her to be so great that I came in and bought another amazing dress from Angela and Natalie. Please pass on my sincere congratulations to the person who engaged the Manager of your Dunedin Store. Charlene is just amazing!!!!! She is bright , bubbly and just so loves the clothes she sells. I spent over an hour with her yesterday, ( I had never meet her before) and wished I could have spent the whole day, she is such a pleasure to be around.
I am a farmer, pretty conservative, an avid home sewer and 54 years young, Charlene made me wish I was 20 again.... and yes I did spend!!!!

Hi Annah, Just had to drop you a line because I have just experienced your absolutely, fantastic service at the Matakana store. Your lovely ladies Viki and Robin give over the top attention to every detail to make sure that you are completely satisfied customers. They obviously love what they do, but wow wee they certainly sold me on service.
Cheerio for now,

Dear Annah,
I was in your store this past week to look for a evening
and wanted to compliment the shop assistant (Michelle)who was there to help me.
She picked my size perfectly and proposed a dress, which I probably would of not picked myself.
Surprising, the dress looked fantastic on me. Even though I didn't make a purchase
that day, I received a very warming and professional service of high standards.
Yours Sincerely,
Teodora

Hi
I just wanted to say a big thanks to Natalie, High Street store In Christchurch.
Entering your store was a last hope after copious amounts of shopping, and trying on endless dresses.
Natalie’s patience combined with creating multiple but equally perfect looks, helped me make my decision for spending more than what I would have originally anticipated.
Anyway, I got LOADS of comments on my dress & I mean LOADs . I wore it to a wedding. The bride , groom ,mother of the bride , best man and groomsmen all complimented the dress. One groomsman even knew it was from Annah Stretton- much to my surprise.
So thanks Natalie- if someone could please pass this on to her that would be great.
Kind regards
Aimee

Hi Annah
Just thought I’d tell you a wee story (good) about one of your employees in Whangarei namely Bronwen.
My daughter and I were browsing while waiting for our Thai to cook. After hours so just window gazing. We had our noses pressed to the window looking for something to attract for the "mother of the bride outfit"
As we looked Bronwen waved out and offered to let us in for a quick look while she finished dressing the window. This was 5.30 ish. She summed up the situation pretty astutely as she listened to our conversation. Had a look at me picked my size and colour and pulled out the perfect dress which I bought - Amazing !! 10 minutes flat/ I am so relieved as I'm not a great shopper and someone like Bronwyn has to be a pretty fantastic asset to have working for you. Just thought I'd pass that on.
Just the fact that she actually cares about people was pretty exceptional I thought.
All the best
Annie

Dear Annah
I was recently (with my daughter and 3 year old granddaughter) in your High Street, Christchurch store, after visiting four other shops in Merivale and Victoria Street, looking for an outfit for myself for my daughter's wedding in April.
Angela, after welcoming us, providing my granddaughter with toys to play with then gave me her undivided attention with finding me a gorgeous jacket and skirt; advising me re accessories, shoe and lipstick colour to compliment the outfit, answering my seemly endless questions, amid lots of laugher, I felt like I had known her for years and later on walked out of your store feeling like a million dollars with my confidence boosted.
I would like to express my genuine thanks to Angela - having stepped out of my comfort zone I have the confidence to wear your stunning outfit as mother of the bride on my daughter's special day.
Angela is an amazing beautiful person, who I can't speak highly enough of, who is totally passionate for the fashion industry - she is an absolute asset for your business.
Kind regards
Sue

Dear Annah,
I would just like to pass onto you what fabulous service I was given by your staff in your Ponsonby shop just this past week. I had the pleasure of been looked after by Debbie who was just so helpful and offered all sorts of suggestions and dresses for me to try on. I am extremely happy with the dress etc which I purchased and will certainly be going back when looking for other new outfits.
Too often people like to complain, but I would just like to let you know, as a first time customer what an absolute pleasure it has been to be looked after by such a vibrant and lovely lady!
Kind regards,
Kim

Dear Ms Stretton
I hope this email gets to you, but I have been driven to send it because I wish to compliment you and your organisation, on the most incredible service my mother and I received from one of your sales assistants... We had gone to High Street in Christchurch to visit another shop, to find an outfit for my sister's wedding. The only park we got was outside your shop. I had seen you talk about your "Stitch and Bitch" products on television and was telling my mother about them. We went into your shop and that's when we were treated like royalty.
Natalie the sales assistant was very helpful. Nothing was a problem. She had a flair for fashion and she was very passionate about your clothes. She went to no end of trouble showing me your sewing kits. I tried on the sample and she showed me all the different ways to wear your skirt, camisole and jacket. This indicated to me the high quality training you must give to your staff, as she was superb.
I had recently had my second child and was a bit conscious of my figure, but Natalie was so lovely, I walked out of that shop feeling fabulous.
I have four sisters and I have already told them and my friends about Natalie and the beautiful clothes at Annah Stretton.
Years ago I was a copywriter at More FM and the philosophy from our boss at the time was service. In all the years, this is the first time I have been treated with such outstanding service that we had instilled in us at my workplace.
So thank-you. I don't know if Natalie was the manager of the store but she should be one. Please pass on our thanks to her and we will be coming back very soon to show her how our clothes turned out using your kits.
We think your clothes are fabulous and your staff.
Kind regards
Elisa
