Wise HeartPraise for Wise Heart:Hi Annah, Enjoying your book. As a male the black and white chapter was very interesting. I might not be divorced if I had known all of that stuff. Never mind, not too late to learn. Not often I write to an author, but in this case you deserve to be told you have done a great job. Cheers, David Dear Annah, I am a Technology teacher at St Mary’s College Auckland. I have just moved to this school and over the holidays visited your shop in Ponsonby. Your sales assistant Isabella was so helpful and positive. I bought your book “Wise Heart” and really enjoyed reading it. It was fascinating and inspiring. I returned to purchase another copy (a gift for a young university). I also purchased your earlier book “From Rag Trade to Mag Trade” and am enjoying that also. The trials and tribulations of running and promoting and expanding your business are so interesting and I really like your honesty. The books will be a very useful resource for my senior Fabric Technology students. I am singing your praises in the classroom! I was born and raised in Te Aroha. I feel I have a connection with you! I like the new Women’s Business magazine “Her”. Well done. Thank you for the complementary copy. Another resource for the classroom to keep our students informed. Kind regards Liz Just a quick message Annah. I continue to find daily inspiration in the words of your Wiseheart book. My favourite chapter so I am discovering is on Black and white thinking. I had the biggest thrill on Monday night just been, of opening for 6 time Grammy winners Lady Antebellum at the Civic Theatre in Auckland.More things are coming about with the help of some wise words in your little gem of a publishing. Many thanks. Wendy Thorton. Have been meaning to email and say that I got Annahs book 'Wise Heart' a couple of weeks ago. The day it arrived I had a fairly horrible article printed about me in the Waikato Times. I was pretty down about it but once I started reading the book I didnt feel so bad: In the first lot of tips I read it said, "start worrying when they stop talking about you". It really brightened my day and as I have been reading onwards the book has definately helped me see things in a new light in terms of myself and and my business.
I havn't quite finished it yet but if you could let her know that I am finding it so informing and pretty inspirational that would be great.
Kindest Regards, Natalie Sangster Dear Annah, I read your book Wise Heart a couple of months ago - I loved the book and even now find myself going back to it and re-reading certain areas for personal and work motivation or advice on how to tackle particular challenges. Originally from Te Awamutu in the Waikato and a Waikato University graduate, I have recently moved to Melbourne (I'm young and have an incredible desire to experience the world and expand my career experience in international markets) and it's lovely to read such a great success story from the region I call home. Thank you for your wonderful words - your book is definitely one I'll keep at my side on my journey to conquer my goals!!! Kate Muggeridge Melbourne, Australia Dear Annah, I enjoyed reading your book “From RagTrade to MagTrade”, after reading “Wise Heart” a few weeks prior. It was amazing that a book kept my attention so completely, as my mind can be abit ‘fractious’ at times (with 100 things on the boil at once). Thanks for a great read! Kind Regards, Teena Maree Cooke TEASE ORGANIX LIMITED Hi Annah, I am a Kiwi who now resides in North Qld, Australia. I felt compelled to contact you as this morning at Auckland airport I picked up a copy of your book "Wise Heart" and was blown away. Not only did it answer many questions I have been asking for as a "Lone Ranger" in business but it has driven me to contact you. Reading your book has given me inspiration and strategies for growth. Thank you for writing your book which I am sure will be a fundamental tool for me in the development of Holy Dooly! Kind Regards Rebekah Hi Annah I have just finished reading your book, and I could not put it down! I am young (27) and new in business (4 years) so I am constantly looking to learn more. You have inspired me to get out of my comfort zone and seek mentors in my field and those who have gone before me in business to learn and gleen from them like one of your chapters talks about. I have made steps to do this already and have found people really do want to help you, and people I never thought would say yes to help me have said yes. So thank you for inspiring me to take myself and my business to another level. I have also subscribed to your magazine and I look forward to reading articles of other inspiring women in business. It's going to be a great year! Sonya Dear Annah Thanks you very much for the copies of your first book which arrived in the post over the weekend, they are very much appreciated and look forward to a good read. Re the changes that I have made since reading your book - I was 2/3rds of the way through restructuring our businesses and was very exhausted and exasperated. I had completely run out of energy, having freed up 15 of our 153 staff in 15 months, your strategies and enthusiasm gave me the energy and strength to carry on and complete the task. I have since freed up 4 more staff who, as you would say, are not fitting to our brand! We can now go forward on a more realistic platform to grow the business with lower overheads and more enthusiastic and appropriate staff for our business. Thank you for saving me when I was wobbling. With kindest regards David Hitchins Hello Annah, It was a pleasure to meet you yesterday at the Her Magazine breakfast and have the opportunity to encourage others to enjoy your book. Please feel free to use my words to promote your wonderful book and for educating people to become more responsible for creating the futures they desire "I was drawn to Annah's book "Wise Heart"; curious to learn how she became the success she is today I started reading. I became engrossed in this story and just had to buy the book. Not only was I impressed with the valuable tips and insights on how Annah became the success she is today, this book is encouraging, motivating and full of great ideas, from believing in yourself to never giving up, to finding something valuable about every "so called mistake". You realise that nothing can stop you from achieving your dreams- that taking full responsibility is so very empowering. There is no one stopping you being as successful ----- but you!! This is a heartfelt, down to earth delivery, with wise and clear steps to success. Thank you Annah for your honest and direct approach to business and life. I am truly inspired. Best wishes Elaine PS: Also, I only attended the breakfast because I had read your book and was so impressed with your honesty and openness. I wanted to know whether that was how you are as a person and I certainly felt your ability to care and encourage with such heart, you named the book well. You truly are a WISE HEART. Hi Annah Have just finished reading your new book - All I can say is fantastic! I love your pragmatic approach to business and business relationships. You mention that you are a list maker and always have a half dozen things to write down after your drive home. As a veterinarian I spend a lot of time on the road and often find myself thinking of the things I have to get done, only to find by the time I reach my destination and can write them down I have forgotten them! A small investment in a dictaphone has proved invaluable to me as I can record things immediately. Its not a cell phone so as far as I can tell it is still legal! Thanks again Paula Dear Annah Your book 'Wise Heart' is truly inspiring. I admire your ambition, your passion, your ability to pack so much into a day, your straight up manner and your heart. Each chapter has given me something new to consider - thanks for writing an excellent business book. Kate Hurst Hi Annah Just spent yesterday reading your book, Wise Heart. I learned a great deal. I work in the medical field and we have no teaching in the areas you discuss. Many of the people I work with are women and you gave me insight.
