The newest collection from Annah Stretton Summer 08/09 is entitled Don’t Take Your Love to Town.

Recently unveiled on the catwalk at RAFW the collection has garnered rave reviews and strong sales. Katie Newton of the Sunday Star Times called it “[a] singular, precise vision... a succession of modern, feminine looks”. These looks embrace the 1920’s, Art Deco and everything that was spectacular about the Great Gatsby Era celebrating beauty and youth after the dark years of war.

Flappers, in their long strings of pearls, hair cut into boyish Eaton crops, danced the night away in their rolled down stockings and short skirts. Styling moves from borrowed boys’ tunics through to long fluid dresses, bias cut to enhance a feminine silhouette. Relive this period and indulge...

As with every season, Annah’s love of colour, texture and attention to detail is apparent with custom knitted and beaded fabrics. Garments are classically cut and collections always feature gorgeous dresses and great separates.

the singular, precise vision ... a succession of modern, feminine looks.... slinky knitted mini dresses and sheaths in hushed hues of lilac and silver. An injection of glamour arrived from a beaded purple column, and a cool foil in the form of a lightweight white sundress and a crisp white-fringed party frock.

... all about the woman flirting and having fun this summer/spring. Annah Stretton... first up, the ladies emerged from their boudoir - complete with sheer and glitter detailing, gloves, feathers, and headpieces.

Pastels, white and black were the main colours in Annah Stretton's collection - a 1920s flapper-style inspired range of feminine and girly dresses. Layers, frills, and sheer overlays were authentic ‘20s, but added metallic touches, and paneling details transported the trend to the new millennium.
Perfect pieces for the races, high tea or elegant drinks in the evening.
