Over the past 10 years the Trust has supported more than 30 different studies/clinical trials including radiotherapy, drug trials and new surgical treatments for breast cancer. In addition to local studies our research team works collaboratively with many international groups, actively participating in international breast cancer research. The Trust’s continued support of both the local and international research work has ensured that women in New Zealand have access to the latest research advances and that New Zealand remains at the forefront of international breast cancer research. www.wbct.org.nz SPCA Waikato Our mission is to advance the welfare of all animals in New Zealand by: -Preventing cruelty to animals -Alleviating suffering of animals -Promoting our policies through education and advocacy Despite generous donations of goods from the public and hundreds of volunteer hours, it takes more than half a million dollars a year to operate the Waikato SPCA and it's services to the community. And although our animal welfare inspectors are government appointed, we do not receive government funding. We have all the normal costs of running a business, like wages, power, communications, vehicle running costs, security, repairs & maintenance, and stationery.
