"Lightbulb Moments with Annah Stretton"
Hi Annah
Cohen's Lifestyle Clinic Hi Annah, Firstly, thanks once again for coming over to present at this years Leadership programme. It was great to have you. The group loved what you had to say and got real value from it. I have now completed the evaluations from the participants and thought I would pass on their comments:
I asked the participants to rate the presenters and the average from the 30 participants present out of 10 was:
I really appreciate the time you give us and would love to have you back next year if you are available. I am glad you liked the pink bubbles! Kind regards and best wishes, Chris Hale | Executive Officer Hauraki Coromandel Development Group Hi Annah Thank you so much for your inspirational presentation at Conference on Saturday It was great – straight forward, hard hitting and so full of your energy We are very fortunate to have your support and hope we can continue to call on your expertise from time to time as we move through our change process So thank you again – your wise words were really well received and your fantastic energy much commented on. They all want whatever you were ‘on’ – if only it was that easy. And my suit was a great hit and will take me to my Washington conference in July in excellent style Kindest regards Robyn Kippenberger National Chief Executive Royal New Zealand SPCA
Please convey to Annah my sincere thanks for speaking last night at the Kapiti Women in Business network. We appreciated very much having her at our end-of-year event and she was certainly the highlight of the year - truly inspirational - and a lot of women went home feeling empowered, challenged and inspired, for sure.
We've had great feedback and I know that women appreciated very much the opportunity to have someone of such high standing in the business community on a national and international basis speak here locally.
I'm delighted that we've been able to work together to make this happen in conjunction with the launch of Annah's book and add that I'd love to bring Annah back again sometime - perhaps as guest speaker at one of our twice-yearly Chamber of Commerce luncheons so that the wider business community of men and women had the opportunity to hear Annah speak. Actually a number of (Chamber) men did mention to me that they would have liked to come...
I'd be grateful if you'd run this idea past Annah and let me know her thoughts.
Meantime, thanks again for your assistance.
Kind regards
Lynette Barrow

Hi Annah I do hope that you get to read this e-mail. I have admired your clothes for along time, and have recently purchased a top which I cannot wait to show off over Christmas. I wanted to e-mail you though, to say thanks for your wise words on Good Morning (Wednesday the 3rd of November) I have only just watched it, from following the link on your webpage, and will have to say you are a total BREATH OF FRESH AIR. I strongly agree in everything you said, and found the whole interview totally refreshing! I always believe that life is what you make it, and find my life reasonably simple, fun and without drama. Thanks again, wishing you well in your business and hoping that you have a wonderfull Christmas and New Year. Regards Beth Bailey Dear Annah, On Tuesday evening at an event in Te Awamutu I had the pleasure of hearing you speak about your new book "Wise Heart". Your passion, drive, innovation and thinking was inspirational; and I wish to thank you for this. I also wanted to share with you a quotation that I have tried to live by; which touches on some of the aspects you spoke of around mediocrity and complacency. (I personally like to replace the "God" references to "Universe") It was written by Marianne Williamson in 1992, and then later used by Nelson Mandela in his 1994 inaugural speech. “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” Thank you Annah for calling us to live "Big Lives" as powerful, capable women. With kind regards, Mary-Anne Murphy -- InspirEd - Educational Consultancy Feedback from 'Lightbulb Moments with Annah StrettonAnnah has a gift for finding the money in your next business idea. Committed to assisting business women to the next level of business it’s like she’s up the ladder offering a helping hand to climb confidently to the next rung. “A Light Bulb Moment with Annah Stretton” was a workshop series designed to expand our thinking and it was not just inspirational, it was transformational. Annah, during the monthly mentoring sessions, was able to lift our thinking to new heights. In every case, the business owner would come along quite certain she knew where her next investment of time and resources would be spent and yet in every case she was distracted on details, not focused on the destination. There is no way we would have worked on our business over the winter with this much focus and accountability without Annah. Annah gave us clarity, ensured we had a great pitch and applied consistent effort in the areas that make the biggest difference. We left with more robust businesses, committed and confident to make great decisions everyday for our business.

Palmerston North Coordinator Her Business Networks 06 356 1494 palmerstonnorth@herbusinessnetworks.co.nz www.hermagazine.co.nz Hi Annah, I really appreciate being able to observe your wonderfully capable team at work during an expo. I look forward to learning from this research (that's what I will tell my husband!!) I have really enjoyed these three workshops and I know I have changed how I think and talk in regards to my business and when communicating with others. I also know my business has developed far quicker in the last two months and I am forever grateful to both you and Barbara for this increased rate of progress. I look forward to seeing you in the future, Sara Berry “Annah - your words have been ringing in my ears since Tuesday and I have been using my 'voice' - today I sold a course in a personal situation where I would usually not have 'voiced' - I am learning and thank you for your sales nous and sound business reasoning.” Jessamine Corpe Money Mastery Limited “Hi Annah, I wanted to let you know how much I appreciated your participation at the workshop in Palmerston North. My mind has been spinning since! I got a lot out of listening to your feedback to the lightbulb business owners and can see how the ideas that were shared can be used in building my own business. I have been really challenged to stop undervaluing both myself and my business and I am pleased to say that I have made some huge steps forward! Thank you again and I look forward to seeing you next month.” Carolyn Tranter Doula Beginnings “THANK YOU!!! The workshop at Palmy was great! Having three businesses featured was an excellent focus and I have been able to take something for my own business from the comments you made to all three. The format worked really well. The last hour with your presentation was also excellent and the handout a great tool to nail the core elements necessary to give focus and clarity of vision – thank you. Thank you too for your succinct and very valuable comments on my A4. You nailed it absolutely. The A4 was a tool a business consultant recommended I use until my budget allowed for printed marketing material and I knew it wasn’t okay (I should know by now to trust my instincts!). Now I know why it wasn’t okay and what I need – so exciting.” Leigh Rosanoski BLISS Event Stylist “I so enjoyed coming to A Lightbulb Moment Workshop today. I felt enthralled to hear your attitudes and ideas. I have come to feel downhearted with New Zealand 'culture' of mediocrity'. In Zimbabwe there was no financial back up if things went wrong - and things went wrong! Jobs were lost, kids got sick , car parts were no longer available ... fuel, milk, flour and deodorants ran out! I was brought up in an 'I have to - therefore I can' culture. What a buzz to hear this (and so much more) in your message. I left with a mixture of feelings. I fought feelings that I was in the wrong business because I am unsure how to increase profit without being there - but I love the work I do - and I'm good at it (counsellor). BUT - there will be a way. I also shifted my thinking in terms of 'in this profession it is mildly shameful to take money' - and one does not get out there and display oneself, ethics and codes and all that. Gone - no - done a shift there. Also I shifted in terms of my belief that not many can afford to pay for counselling privately - that's holding me back. I'm stuck with my book idea, but have made a few connections today, so will hold your thoughts, your energy, your belief ... and push myself to next steps. Thank you very much for today. It was so very worthwhile.” Gail Barltett-Harris MNZAC Counsellor “Annah Stretton is a truly inspirational role model both as a highly successful entrepreneur but also as a woman. She is a driven, focused, motivated woman running a high profile, profitable company. As a mentor she is tough, fair and forceful. She will not allow you to rest on your laurels or give anything but your best when she has identified that you have the potential to succeed and grow with your business. The insight she brings from her wealth of business experiences assists you in planning strategic moves, identifying the right people for the right seats on your team, implementing robust systems whilst focusing on the bottom line. I thoroughly recommend Annah as a mentor and feel privileged that she has taken time from her busy schedule to assist with the growth in my Company and myself.” Cilla Hegarty Founder/ CEO NZ Tax Refunds Ltd Feedback from past speaking engagements:
Dear Annah
Thanks you very much for the copies of your first book which arrived in the post over the weekend, they are very much appreciated and look forward to a good read.
Re the changes that I have made since reading your book - I was 2/3rds of the way through restructuring our businesses and was very exhausted and exasperated. I had completely run out of energy, having freed up 15 of our 153 staff in 15 months, your strategies and enthusiasm gave me the energy and strength to carry on and complete the task. I have since freed up 4 more staff who, as you would say, are not fitting to our brand!
We can now go forward on a more realistic platform to grow the business with lower overheads and more enthusiastic and appropriate staff for our business.
Thank you for saving me when I was wobbling.
With kindest regards
David Hitchins

“Annah has set a new standard for the Marlborough Chamber of Commerce ASB Bank Inspiring Speaker Series. Her strategies for personal and business successful were excellent and gave the audience a ‘tool kit’ to take away. The feedback I received from members who attended was the best that I have ever had. I would strongly recommend to any business group that they take the opportunity to have Annah as a quest speaker.” Brian Dawson General Manager Chamber of Commerce Malborough “Inspiring speaker. Passionate about her many pursuits and backed by a sharp business mind, a potent combination for success. Left me wanting to hear more from Annah, will have to buy the book!” Graeme Andrews Commercial Manager ASB Business Banking “If you want your team to feel they can take on the world and win, ask Annah to speak to them about her career and guiding principles – a result is guaranteed. Annah’s honest up front approach and determination to succeed inspires people to think again about their take on life. ‘If Annah can do it, why can’t I?’ Her no-nonsense attitude and strong work ethic, combined with a desire to see others achieve, inspired our team of managers and her presentation was the highlight of our conference.” Marie-Ann Billens General Manager Estee Lauder Companies “Listening to Annah at our Women in Super function was akin to a personal 'power-coaching' session since there was at least one potentially life-changing takeout for every woman in the room. We liked Annah's direct, common sense approach to making a difference for yourself and getting on with achieving your goals. She wrote out a permission slip for women to take no prisoners, think like a man and never be afraid to give something a go if there is a business opportunity before you. What also resonated well was that she keeps a balance and is very prepared to give something back through mentoring and through her capacity building approach to her philanthropic passions. We loved hearing the story of someone who started out with little and made a go of it, yet, after all that success, remains approachable, grounded and generous of spirit. If you get a chance to hear Annah, don't pass it by.” Women in Super “Thank you so much for sharing your Strategies for Success and tips to drive your business forward, although I work in a non for profit business, I personally still received real information that can be applied in my everyday life. You are such an inspiration to me, and wanting to help as well. I will be in touch closer to our Restyle Design Competition in our retail shops with the high school students. You certainly recharge my batteries and motivated than ever. Thank you.” Helen Kelland Funding Development & Marketing Manager Te Omanga Hospice
